Title: Double-Edged Sword: Opportunities and Challenges Of English Publication Among Non-Native Speakers of English (NNES) Scholars
Abstract: The purpose of the study is to investigate two perspectives of publishing issues – one from journals and one from NNES scholars. Journals will be explored by utilizing a textual analysis and NNES scholars’ perceptions toward publishing in English-medium journals will be learned by conducting survey research.

Title: How International Students Develop Their Academic Listening And Note-Taking Skills: From TOEFL Test Preparation To Actual Classroom Learning
Abstract: This qualitative research study will follow the same international students from TOEFL test preparation stage until their first semester in different degree programs in the U.S. to explore how they may improve their note-taking and listening skills. Findings from the pilot study will be shared.

Title: Global Events And Efl (English As A Foreign Language) Learners: Narratives From Three Indonesian English Learners
Abstract: This study examined how regional and global events affected three Indonesian English language learners’ life trajectories. Employing narrative inquiry as the research method for studying lived experiences, this study takes the perspectives that language learning is life-long and life-wide process. EFL learners’ personal accounts matter.
