THE EFFECTS OF LINGUISTIC FEATURES ON PLACEMENT TEST LEVELS: LOGISTIC REGRESSION
This in-progress study examined the influence of the type-token ratio (TTR), tokens, gender, the college type, graduate status, and age on placement test levels (i.e., low vs. intermediate) through logistic regression. The findings seem to support an evidence of applying the TTR and tokens to assess students’ placement test essays.

“I DIDN’T THINK THAT MUCH BEFORE YOU ASKED ME”: A CASE STUDY OF AN EARLY-CAREER L2 WRITING TEACHER
This is a single case study of an early-career L2 writing teacher. It aims to investigate how conversations functioned effectively in raising awareness of the focal teacher’s application of theories to practice. Findings suggest that teachers’ awareness of their theory application could mitigate the disjunction between theory and practice.
