This study explores the meaning of young adults’ school and work patterns on their future careers. Using a national level longitudinal dataset, we also investigate how young adults’ school and work patterns predict their actual career outcomes in the future.

Parental Affection and Mental Health in Later Life: The Mediating Role of Conscientiousness
This study examined the mediating role of conscientiousness in relating early experiences with parents to later mental health and the role of neuroticism in moderating this relation. Results suggest that conscientiousness only mediates the relation between early experiences with parents and later mental health at high levels of neuroticism.

Children’s Emotion Regulation Flexibility and Negative Emotions in relation to Maternal Characteristics
The study investigated the effect of Emotion Regulation(ER) flexibility on children’s regulation of negative emotion in relation to maternal response to emotion and depressive symptoms. Results suggest that fewer types of anger-intensifying and passive ER may be beneficial to children’s regulation of negative emotion.

Family Functioning in a Diverse Sample of Pediatric Primary Care Patients
The purpose of this study was to pilot a brief measure of family functioning in pediatric primary care practices among caregivers of children aged 2-18. This project ultimately seeks to mitigate potential healthcare disparities through increasing providers’ ability to make informed psychotherapy referrals in traditionally underserved populations.
