Assistant Dean Janet Alder will present an overview of programs and world class resources available to Rutgers graduate students including an active career exploration and development program called iJOBS.

Current PhD and MD/PhD students will have a panel discussion so you can have your questions answered and learn about programs in:

Rutgers Chemistry & Chemical Biology Graduate Open House

Rutgers University Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology invites you to join a Virtual Open House for their Graduate Program.

The Open House will cover the application process and tips, generous stipends, fellowships, student life, and close industry connections. There will be grad students and faculty panels.

Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Program

Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Ph.D. Program (PULSe) is hosting a Fall Open House on Friday, November 2, 2018.

PULSe provides opportunities for an interdisciplinary graduate experience in basic life sciences for Ph.D. students. The program offers: flexibility through first-year laboratory rotations; team experience within interdisciplinary cohorts; world-class facilities and resources; and diverse research opportunities across multiple disciplines. PULSe is an interdisciplinary program that includes faculty members from 27 different departments/programs at Purdue. There are currently over 190 faculty in PULSe.

The Open House’s activities will include:

  • A “Meet the Faculty” Session – at the session, a panel of faculty members representing the PULSe Training Groups will give an informal presentation on their group and the research associated with it after which each faculty member will be available to speak one-on-one with interested students;
  • Student Lab Tours – current PULSe students will escort small groups of prospective students to and around their labs;
  • Lunch with Students – A number of current PULSe students meet with open house attendees over a meal in the Purdue Memorial Union to discuss their personal experiences with the PULSe program and at Purdue; and
  • A Facilities Tour – Attendees tour the Bindley Bioscience and Birck Nanotechnology Centers to see some of the research resources and facilities available at Purdue!

The event will start at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm at Purdue’s main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. More information about the program and the Fall Open House is available on their respective websites.

Pre-Health Open House

Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Physician Assistant Program will host a joint Pre-Health Open House on their Dublin campus this fall.

Attending students will hear from the Dean of HCOM-Dublin, the PA Program Director, and Admissions Representatives. In addition, they will meet with students that are currently in the programs and tour the facilities. Refreshments will be provided.

The Open House will take place on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 from 9:00am to 11:30am. Students interested in attending should RSVP  on their Google Form. More information can be found on the event’s official flyer.

Graduate Science Fall Open House

Duquesne University of Pittsburg invites you to their Graduate Science Open House on Saturday, October 14th from 11am to 3pm. At this program, you will speak with faculty and graduate students about their latest research in biomolecular, environmental, analystical, computational, and inorganic chemistry. You will also learn about financial aid options and tour their labs, facilities, and campus.

Duquesne’s Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers a Ph.D. in Chemistry and currently has 37 graduate students in the program. Their incoming graduate student class varies between 7-11 new students yearly. Their students are supported through a tuition waiver and a stipend of $24,230 a year (2016-17 amount) for serving as a teaching assistant, although research assistantships and fellowships are also available on a competitive basis.
