Summer Internship Opportunities at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

Applications for the CHOP Research Institute Summer Scholars Program (CRISSP) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are now open.

CRISSP is a 10-week internship designed to inspire undergraduate students to pursue careers in pediatric research and academic medicine through training in theoretical knowledge and research as well as critical exposure to pediatric-focused career trajectories under the direct mentorship of CHOP faculty.

The goal of CRISSP is to provide a transformational summer by inspiring students to explore, create, discover, and innovate in areas related to child health wellness. All students will have multiple opportunities for clinical shadowing and broad exposure to biomedical research careers. The program is designed to inspire undergraduate students to pursue careers in pediatric research and academic medicine through training in theoretical knowledge and research as well as pediatric-focused career trajectories under the direct mentorship of CHOP faculty.

Students receive a $5,000 stipend and free housing in local dorms.

SUPER Summer Training Program

Are you looking for a summer program that integrates research and clinical care? If so, please consider applying for the NIH funded SUPER Summer Program at Nationwide Children’s and The Ohio State University.

This program provides clinical and basic science research training in the fields of Kidney and Bladder Diseases. Students will be paired with a research mentor to guide them through their summer projects, that will culminate in an abstract presentation. In addition, students will be able to shadow Nephrologists in the clinic and dialysis unit and Urologists in the operating room. SUPER Summer students will receive a summer stipend and receive support to attend the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week meeting in 2023 (held in Washington D.C.).

This 10-week program allows students to…

  • Increase their understanding of urinary tract development, physiology, and disease pathogenesis
  • Enhance their knowledge in skills required to be a successful biomedical researcher
  • Be immersed in a translational research project
  • Have exposure to multi-disciplinary careers focused on nephrology and urology

2023 Summer Internship at UC San Diego/Scripps Institution of Oceanography/Marine Physical Laboratory


The University of California San Diego Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Marine Physical Laboratory is offering a summer internship program for those considering applying to graduate school and are interested in a career path of oceanography or contemplating a career in scientific research and development. First, second, or third year undergraduate students majoring in oceanography, applied mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and related majors are encouraged to apply.

This is a 10-week internship and allows students to work with some of the most notable scientists in the world and learn about marine science and technology while earning a modest salary. Interns will be working 40 hours per week at a salary of $16.30/hour and includes a $6,000 (taxable) stipend.

The application deadline is 4 P.M. Pacific time on January 13, 2023. Applicants may be notified as early as February and all applicants will have been notified by the end of April.

MS in Applied Chemical Science & Technology at the University of Washington

The University of Washington is directing a Master of Science in Applied Chemical Science and Technology Program. This program allows students to learn how to harness and apply tools to solve real-world problems and make scientific advances.

Students can earn a degree in one year or pursue two years on a thesis track. The program teaches skills required for applied chemistry jobs, chemical instrumentation and cheminformatics, and get hands-on experience in tools and techniques. The estimated cost per credit is $691; the estimated total cost for a 36-credit non-thesis track is $24,867; and the estimated total cost for a 48-credit thesis track is $33,168.

Cancer-focused Summer Undergraduate Research (CanSUR)

This Case Comprehensive Cancer Center Research opportunity gives students a chance to work with renowned cancer researchers. The program begins with a week of interactive cancer research lectures to provide a foundational understanding of cancer biology and the latest cancer research. Students will then begin their mentored research experience, for which they will present the results of at the symposium during the final week.

A stipend is provided for the 10-weeks of the program from June to August.

Wexner Medical Buckeye Diversity Internship Program

The 2023 recruiting cycle for the Buckeye Diversity Summer Internship Program is now open. This will allow students to gain experience at OSU’s Wexner Medical Center. Five undergraduate students will have the chance to work with executive directors from across Wexner Medical Center on high-level projects and participate in weekly professional and personal development.

Project focus areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Hospital Administration and Operations

  • Mental and Behavioral Health

Students will also have shadowing and tour opportunities.

This program is seeking 5 rising college seniors of diverse backgrounds to participate in the program from June 5th to August 11th.

Open Position: Stockroom Coordinator

The Gustavus Adolphus College is hiring a full-time Chemistry Stockroom Coordinator to support the teaching staff and research faculty by purchasing, preparing and organizing labs and equipment.

Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree, with two years of college chemistry, with a preferred degree in Chemistry or a closely related field. Other qualifications include basic knowledge of safe handling of lab chemicals, data-management software skills, and experience in preparation of reagents.
