Virtual Career Fair for internships and fellowships with DoD

Join the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) on January 18, 2023, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET for a virtual career fair highlighting STEM internship and fellowship opportunities for college students and postgraduates at U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) research facilities around the country!

During the fair, attendees will have the chance to:

  • Explore paid internships and fellowships with DoD research facilities
  • Learn about DoD host facilities that host ORISE participants
  • Connect with ORISE program staff in 1-on-1 chats

Keynote Presentation: Dr. Victor Convertino, senior scientist with the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research, will give a live presentation at the event. His talk is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. ET.

2022 Fall Career and Internship Fair

Network at The Ohio State University at the 2022 fall Career and Internship Fair! This event is a must-attend event for employers seeking talent from a variety of academic backgrounds. This university-wide fall career fair is open to Ohio State students and alumni across all majors and degree levels. The 2022 Career and Internship Fair will be two days, in-person at the Ohio State Ohio Union and virtually on Handshake.

The Handshake virtual career fair platform gives employers the opportunity to:

  • Engage in video, audio, and chat communication with students.
  • Host 5 group meetings per day with up to 50 students each.
  • Conduct 1:1 ten-minute individual meetings with interested students.
  • Allow students to learn more about a company’s mission and values.
  • Send messages and view the profiles of students that have scheduled to meet with them both before and after the fair.

  • Wed, April 6 |  Sarepta Therapeutics Mock Interviews/Resume Review – This is a great, low-stakes opportunity to obtain feedback on your interview skills or your resume from an HR professional in the biotech space.
  • Thurs, April 7 |  Vorys and Careers Bridging Science and Law, 11:30am (in person).  You will learn about how your science or engineering background makes you a prime candidate for a career in patent law (no JD required).  This is open to postdocs, grad and undergraduate students.
  • Thurs, April 14 |  Andelyn Biosciences: Biotech Leaders in Your Backyard, 5pm (in person).  This info session is geared toward both undergraduate and graduate students in biology and related fields and will take you behind the scenes of this fast-growing Columbus-based biotech company. Presenters include scientists and HR reps.

2022 Startup Career Fair

The Business Builders Club is hosting its 3rd annual Startup Career Fair. The Career Fair will include 40 businesses from around the Midwest, giving students the opportunity to hear from startups in the area. All students interested in working for a startup are encouraged to attend.

This will take place on Tuesday, January 25th from 12 PM – 4 Pm via Zoom.

Experience ORISE Virtual Career Fair

On Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET, the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is hosting a virtual career fair to highlight the variety of paid internships, fellowships, and research opportunities available within the Research Participation Program at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Chat with ORISE representatives and mentors from a variety of FDA programs
  • Learn about the research and/or projects conducted within those programs
  • Explore paid internships, fellowships, and research opportunities
  • Connect with ORISE staff members to ask about applying, what to expect during the appointment, and to learn more about the ORISE experience
  • Network with other prospective applicants
  • Discuss the benefits and challenges of entering a graduate program with Ph.D. scientists and engineers

Virtual Science Career Fair


Attending employers recruit across a broad range of disciplines, but the focus will be on careers in the sciences. There will be a large number of private, non-profit, governmental sector companies recruiting for interns, R&D developers, chemists, microbiologists, lab technicians & scientists, pharmaceutical researchers & sales, medical consulting & sales, medical researchers, medical scribes, data scientists, software analysts, and many other related technical careers.

In addition, there will likely be opportunities for technology, marketing, communications, business, data analytics, and engineering students.

Advanced research via Handshake is recommended to determine if a particular employer of interest will be in attendance and a good fit for your career advancement. You can also make an appointment via Handshake with a Career Coach to get assistance on your resume, interviewing skills, and/or job searches.

Attending employers seek to fill full-time, entry level positions, as well as summer internships. Bring the following when you attend:

  • Current Students: A valid BuckID is required to enter the fair on the day of the event.
  • Recent Graduates: We welcome you to the event and request that you drop off a copy of your resume at the registration desk upon arrival.

Southern Teachers Virtual Job Fair

Southern Teachers is a teacher placement agency that seeks to place candidates with independent schools in the South.  Southern Teachers will hold a Virtual Job Fair on February 5th. This event will give interested candidates the opportunity to pursue jobs at schools who are seeking new talent.

To attend this job fair, you first must be an active Southern Teachers candidate. All Southern Teachers candidates will be automatically registered for the event. If you are not yet an active candidate, you may apply here.

U.S. Department of Energy Virtual Career Fair

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) is holding a Virtual Career Fair on Thursday, October 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. The event is hosted by Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). This career fair gives undergraduates and recent graduates an opportunity to meet recruiters, scientists, and researchers; learn more about each participating lab; and learn about Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) and Community College Internships (CCI) at a variety of schools.

Fall Career and Internship Fair

Registration is now open for the Fall Career and Internship Fair. This campus-wide fall career fair is open to Ohio State students across all majors, graduate programs and degree levels. We welcome employers from any industry to recruit undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in every academic program.

A Handshake account is required to participate in this year’s virtual fair experience.


Each academic year, a number of Career Fairs are hosted at Ohio State. For your convenience, the Office of Student Life has compiled a comprehensive list of fairs hosted on Ohio State campuses.

2020 Summer Internship and Opportunity Fair

ASC Career Success is hosting a Summer Internship and Opportunity Fair in the Archie M. Griffin Ballroom of the Ohio Union. This event will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This fair will give undergraduate students the opportunity to meet with a variety of employers who are looking for candidates for summer internships, part-time and full-time summer jobs, and volunteer opportunities. Students interested in pursuing resume-building experiences for careers in business-related areas, nonprofit management, sports and recreation, education, and other areas are encouraged to attend and students of all majors are welcome.

No preregistration is necessary, but a valid BuckID must be presented on the day of the event. In preparation for the event it is recommended that students have their resumes reviewed, walk-in hours for this are posted here.
