ASC Career Success is hosting a Summer Internship and Opportunity Fair in the Archie M. Griffin Ballroom of the Ohio Union. This event will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This fair will give undergraduate students the opportunity to meet with a variety of employers who are looking for candidates for summer internships, part-time and full-time summer jobs, and volunteer opportunities. Students interested in pursuing resume-building experiences for careers in business-related areas, nonprofit management, sports and recreation, education, and other areas are encouraged to attend and students of all majors are welcome.
No preregistration is necessary, but a valid BuckID must be presented on the day of the event. In preparation for the event it is recommended that students have their resumes reviewed, walk-in hours for this are posted here.

The ACS Scholars Program is more than just a scholarship, it’s a network of passionate chemical professionals who want to help and support future chemists during a crucial time in their lives.
The program is a community that dedicates itself to representing minority students from high school seniors to undergraduate students who want to study chemical sciences. Scholars are chosen based on career objective, academic standing, leadership skills, financial need and involvement in school or community activities.

The College of Wooster’s NSF-REU program for Summer 2020 is now accepting applications. This is a 10-week research program housed in Wooster’s Physics Department. You may find information about potential research projects here.
These research projects are both innovative and accessible to undergraduate students. Students will be treated as collaborators and will learn how to be independent scientific thinkers during this program. In addition to research, students will participate in career-building workshops as well as other social events. Throughout the summer, students will complete a paper to summarize their research and present tier work in a poster session.
In order to apply, students should have completed one year of college-level introductory physics.
This program begins Monday, May 18 and ends on Friday, July 24. Participating students will be paid a $6,500 stipend. Relocation funds are available.

Scientific Thinkers is a student organization here at OSU. They are a volunteer program that seeks to impact our community by teaching elementary students and mentoring underrepresented students with limited STEM resources. This student organization will allow students to gain teaching experience, grow in leadership skills, and improve in their ability to teach STEM material.

This program is a 10-week educational experience that allows students the opportunity to research at one of two Air Force research facilities under the mentorship of an Air Force scientist. Research opportunities cover almost all STEM fields such as Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Cognitive Science, Physics and Kinesiology.
Students will gain first-hand research experience as well as learn the inner workings of an operational laboratory and develop contacts. Locations are Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH or Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. Stipend of ~$12,000 for the 10 weeks.

The University of Akron’s 2020 Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering is now accepting applications! This program consists of an 11-week internship where students will investigate a fundamental question within the disciplines of polymer science and engineering. Students will gain research and career development experience during this program. At the end of the summer, students will present their research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference. There is a $7,500 stipend for this program, of which $5,500 is paid directly to the student and $2,000 of which is allocated directly to housing and related living expenses. The program will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 and will end on Friday, August 7, 2020.

International medical fraternity, Phi Delta Epsilon, is recruiting qualified individuals for its next chapter. The organization is a great opportunity for pre-med students to engage with other pre-med students. It provides an outlet to hear about academics, getting involved in research, taking the MCAT, and the application process to medical school from pre-med peers.
At chapter meetings, PhiDE often has guest speakers such as current practicing doctors and individuals on the admissions boards of medical schools.

The Center for Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE) focuses on improving our understanding of how aerosol particles influences the environment, air quality, and climate. The organization’s diverse team investigates the enormous chemical, biological, and physical variability of airborne particles, with special attention to sea spray. Using state-of-the-art instrumentation and computational tools, including a novel real-world in the laboratory approach to generate aerosols, CAICE is dedicated to researching all aspects of aerosol chemistry, one of the largest current gaps in our understanding of climate change.
Through the Summer Undergraduate Research Program, thoughtful and enthusiastic undergraduate researchers engage in experimental or theoretical CAICE research throughout the US. Top CAICE faculty and researchers are eager to involve you in their mission!
Undergraduate researchers in the program are able to choose from CAICE labs located across the US.

Participants in the 8 to 10 week summer program will receive stipends of atleast $5,000 and on-campus housing for the full duration of the program. Travel reimbursements are available.
