OSU Women in Engineering Leadership Symposium

The upcoming inaugural Women in Engineering Leadership Symposium will be a two-day event sponsored by the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) Department. The event will take place Wednesday, November 2nd from 5:30 – 9 pm and Thursday, November 3rd from 6-9 pm.

The first day will consist of a grad school info session/networking opportunity with 2022 AIChE President and NC State Professor Dr. Christine Grant, followed by dinner, her keynote speech, small group discussions with Buckeye Engineering Women in Executive Leadership (BEWEL) alumni, and an informal networking opportunity.

The second day of the Symposium will feature a student panel focused on holistic wellness and resources from the OSU Student Wellness Center.

Though this event will have many engineering students attending, non-engineering STEM students are also welcomed to attend. The discussions will be applicable to all STEM students and will be a great networking opportunity for all.

The symposium has limited capacity, so signups are required for attending one or both days of the event. You may sign up here. Additional information will be emailed to those who sign up.

Purdue Chemical Engineering Master’s Program

The Professional Master’s Program (PMP) in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering (CHE) at Purdue University is a 12-16 month long, non-thesis, coursework-based Master’s program that prepares students for leadership and business roles in industry and government sectors through a combination of advance engineering and business courses.

Students also gain professional experience during the 12-week long summer capstone program, wherein students work on open-ended problems as part of an industry-based with one of our industry partners or an academic-based capstone project with one of our engineering faculty.

The program coursework is tailored to the career goals and backgrounds of its students. Students from non-chemical engineering backgrounds, such as Chemistry, will take three additional foundational Chemical Engineering courses in Engineering Calculations, Separation Processes, and Reaction Engineering to help prepare them for their graduate-level Chemical Engineering coursework. These pre-requisite courses can be taken concurrently with the rest of the PMP coursework so that their program completion is only delayed by one semester.

The program is currently accepting applications for both Spring and Fall 2021 and GRE score requirements have been waived for these applicants due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, international students receiving a degree from a U.S. institution do not need to submit English Proficiency scores, such as TOEFL or IELTS scores.
