Ag Entrepreneurship Camp: September 24-26 at Hocking College

High School youth are invited to Ag Entrepreneurship Camp taking place September 24-26 at Hocking College. The camp is open to any youth in High School that are interested in learning about Entrepreneurship. The weekend is full of activities, field trips, and developing your own business pitch. Cloverbud Members – Save the Date for Cloverbud Day at the Fair!

Fair is just around the corner so be sure to put these Cloverbud Fair Events on your calendar. As a reminder, all of these activities are optional but members will receive a ribbon or gift for participation.

Cloverbud Day at the Fair: Sunday, Oct 10th

  • Show-N-Tell, 12 p.m., Round Dairy Barn
    • This is an opportunity for club members to tell about their year in 4-H. Members are encouraged to bring a project or item from the 4-H year to show and talk about.
    • All participants will receive a ribbon.
    • If you’re interested in attending Show-N-Tell, please email me with number of members participating. We will all meet at noon in the ROUND CATTLE barn and each club will get a turn to present their show-n-tell.
  • Stuffed Animal Show, Round Dairy Barn
    • Encourage your members to bring their favorite stuffed animal. Each child will get to enter the ring, share a fun fact about their animal, and have a mini experience of what it’s like to show at the fair.
    • This show will take place immediately following Show-N-Tell
    • All participants will receive a ribbon.
  • Cloverbud Graduation
    • We will be recognizing Cloverbud members who are ‘graduating’ from the Cloverbud program and will be traditional 4-H members in 2022.
    • Members should have received an invitation email and survey to fill out if this applies to them.
    • Graduation will follow immediately after the Stuffed Animal Show in the round dairy barn arena!

Lancaster Greenhouse Fundraiser – This Saturday & Sunday

Come support the Fairfield County 4-H Advisory Committee by shopping at the Lancaster Greenhouse and Nursery, September 18th & 19th!

  • In-Store Sales
    • Distribute the coupon below to all family and friends. A whole page of coupons can be found here: Lancaster Greenhouse Fundraiser
    • Group supporters will shop as a “normal customer” on the above dates listed.  If we happen to have any current in-store sales and promotions taking place, they will be able to take advantage of those just like a typical customer.
    • At time of checkout, customers will give a copy of the attached coupon to our cashier so we know they are associated with your group and 15% of their transaction will be donated back to your group (not the customer).
    • Absolutely no coupons can be distributed at the store location

This is a fundraising event for the 4-H Advisory Committee. The 4-H Advisory Committee supports county 4-H programming for all youth members and adult volunteers including, but not limited to: Awards and banquets, trips and scholarships, printing costs, special programming costs, and more!

Save the Date: 4-H Camp 2022

In Summer 2022, Fairfield County 4-H will have FOUR summer camp options for youth. Youth will sign up for camp based on the grade of school they have just completed. This will be the same grade you enter when you sign up for 4-H next spring. We hope you are as excited as we are, so save the date and join us at Alley Park or Tar Hollow next summer!

Pygmy Goat Clinic: Sunday, September 19th at 4:30 p.m.

All Fairfield County 4-H and FFA youth planning to exhibit Pygmy Goats at the 2021 Fairfield County Junior Fair are invited to attend the Pygmy Goat Clinic on Saturday, September 19th, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at the Round Cattle Barn at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. This event is hosted by the Pygmy Goat Show Committee.

Celebration of Youth – October 2, 2021

Join us for an evening of fall fun at Leeds Farm in support of Ohio 4-H!  Since 1998, Celebration of Youth has been an annual fundraiser supporting Ohio 4-H Youth Development programming and operations. This year it will be held at Leeds Farm on Sat., Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m. EST. This will be a casual evening, to enjoy hayrides, the zip line, pumpkin jump, adult trikes, basketball shoots, and pumpkin shop. Of course, the evening wouldn’t be complete without the annual silent and live auctions. The event is 21 and over.  The kids are away so the adults can play! Make your plans to join us for this evening of fall fun on the farm in support of Ohio 4-H. Livestock Judging Opportunity: Wayne County Fair, Sept. 12th

Please share with any of your 4-H youth or volunteers involved with Livestock Judging….Individuals or teams can now register for our 2021 Wayne County Junior Fair General Livestock Judging Contest to be held at noon in the Event Center at the Wayne County Fairgrounds on Sunday September 12th.  Click the link below to pre-register online.  Onsite registration / check-in will also open at 11 am the day of the event.
