Tractor Maintenance End of Year Update

On February 25th the 4-H Tractor club went to the Liberty Union High School work shop and to the Specialty Tractor on March 4th where everyone was tested. The banquet will be March 11th, 6:30pm at Amanda United Methodist Church (200 East High Street, Amanda, Ohio). We had a great season and hope to see everyone there. Here are some pictures at the Cupp Residence/Farm Shop where we had one of our meetings.

Tractor Maintenance News Update

The Tractor club met at Ag-Pro Ohio (formerly JD Equipment) on Jan 28th and at Fairfield County Fairgrounds this last week (2/4). At Ag-Pro Ohio everyone got to tour the workshop and see combines and tractors. At the Fairgrounds the small engine group experimented with cooling water with and without a fan and the older groups started an engine. Just a reminder that the banquet is March 11th at Amanda Methodist Church (200 East High Street) and costs $10 per person. See a club member for more information. The next meeting will be 7pm, February 11th, at the Travis Cupp Farm Shop (6130 Duncan Road, Lancaster.)

TRACTOR MAINTENANCE & SMALL ENGINES 4-H CLUB

TRACTOR MAINTENANCE & SMALL ENGINES 4-H CLUB

Do you know of someone who has an interest in maintaining engines and equipment? Do you know someone who regularly works with dirt bikes, lawn mowers, tractors, or other small engine powered equipment?

The Tractor Maintenance & Small Engines 4-H Club is looking for new members! This 4-H club teaches individuals how to work on small engines and tractors while visiting different businesses and ag shops.

The club meets every Monday in January and February with a banquet in March. The first meeting will be Monday, January 7th at 7:00p.m. at the Fairfield County Ag Center, 831 College Ave, Lancaster. For more information, contact the Fairfield County Extension Office (740-652-7260).

Exhibitor Premiums

If you completed a project during summer judging and have the project exhibited at the fair, you are eligible to receive the premium award based on the grade you received.  Stop by the little red building east of the Junior Fair Office (on top of the hill) and pick up your premium.  For those of you that are showing this week at the fair, you can get your premium the day AFTER your show.  The ladies working in the premium office need your grade before they can give you your premium, and we need until the following morning to get them copies.

Please Remember to THANK YOUR SPONSORS!

We need to make sure our sponsors receive thanks and appreciation for supporting Fairfield County’s youth. This would include applying for the Bertha Wilson Scholarship, receiving awards at Summerfest, as well as receiving awards at the Fairfield County Junior Fair.

Please make sure if you are receiving awards (or have received awards already this year), to write a thank you note to your sponsor for these awards. Several people took lots of time making sure there was an address label for your particular sponsor on the back of rosettes/ribbons and attached to trophies.

Please note that we often lose sponsors because they do not receive a note of appreciation and thanks from our youth members receiving the awards that they have sponsored. If a member is not sure of their sponsor for an award received at Summerfest or the Fair, please contact the Extension Office and we will help you get the information you need.

We also strongly encourage youth to share information about their project, award(s) received, and perhaps a picture! Sponsors really enjoy reading this information.
