2022 National 4-H Youth In Action Awards – Application is now open!

The 2022 YOUTH IN ACTION AWARDS APPLICATION is now open!

The 4‑H Youth in Action Program recognizes four confident young leaders with diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives in our core pillar areas: agriculture, civic engagement, healthy living and STEM.

Each year, Pillar Winners will experience an exciting year of telling their 4‑H story and celebrating their leadership. Winners receive:

  • $5,000 higher education scholarship
  • Promotional video showcasing their 4‑H impact story
  • All-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. for National 4‑H Council’s Legacy Awards
  • Networking opportunities with 4‑H celebrities and other prominent alumni
  • Recognition as the official 4‑H youth spokesperson for their pillar

Ohio FFA Foundation Scholarships – Application due 2/1/2021

One application for three scholarship opportunities! Application are now open and due February 1, 2021. Here are the scholarships:

  • Earl “Doc” Kantner Scholarship
  • Ohio HBPA Scholarship
  • Ohio State Fair Scholarship

The application includes 3 essay questions plus students must upload their current resume. Please have your essay responses and resume prepared in other documents to copy into the application, as you cannot save your work and return later. The resume file must be saved as a .pdf file.

Teen Opportunity: 2021 Ohio Youth Capital Challenge (applications due 1/18/2021)

The 2021 Ohio Youth Capital Challenge is now accepting applications and nominations for members who want to learn more about government and public policy and make a difference in their community. Participants will learn how to identify local issues, create solutions and follow the policy making process through state government. Youth from 4-H, FFA and the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation work in teams, with support from college-age mentors. In 2021 delegates will participate in a series of online modules with topics designed to help them have a hands-on advocacy experience. Each team will work together remotely and present their solutions for the opportunity to receive a scholarship.

4-H members who are in at least ninth grade and between the ages of 14-18 during the 2020-21 school year are invited to apply.

Applications will remain open until January 18, 2021
