Junior Leaders – Seeking New Members!

Greetings,

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the new year! The first meeting of the Fairfield County Junior Leadership Club will be Wednesday, January 18, 6:00 pm at the Ag Center. Please encourage any 13 year old or older 4-H members in your club to attend! (Youth should have received a post card this week inviting them to attend.)

The Junior Leadership Club is a county wide club made up of older 4-H youth. They participate in community service projects, help promote 4-H in the schools in Fairfield County, work events at the county fair, assist with summer judging and Summerfest, and host the advisor’s end of the year banquet. Being a Junior Leader is a great way for teens to network with youth from around the county.

If you have youth in your club that are interested in being a Junior Leader, please encourage them to attend our first meeting of the New Year on January 18th.

If you or any club member (that is unable to attend the meeting in January) would like to be added to the JL email list to receive updates on meetings and club events please contact me at (goodman.230@osu.edu)!

Becca Goodman, Fairfield County 4-H Junior Leadership Club Advisor

Ohio Beef Expo Updates

As the Ohio Beef Expo continues to grow, they are looking at options to make it an enjoyable experience for both exhibitors and attendees. Below is the tentative schedule, but the major changes include a full 3-day trade show for all exhibitors, ensuring that Expo attendees that only wish to come on Sunday still have a full trade show to experience. Also, the Youth Activities schedule that was held predominantly on Saturday in years past has now been moved to Friday. The reason for the schedule change is to accommodate more schools for a field trip to the judging contest and Beef Quality Assurance on Friday and to help Saturday’s schedule wrap-up showmanship a little earlier by starting showmanship at Noon.

The Ohio Beef Expo will be held March 17-19 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.

Here is the schedule:
