Join us for a FREE educational event! Event focus will be on show lambs, pigs, feeder calves, goats and poultry. Topics will be nutrition/selection, daily care, showmanship and show day prep/fitting.

Heritage Cooperative Show Supply

Show Stock U – Coming to Adams County 4/2/2016

Caleb Grooms with Cherry Fork Farm Supply in Adams County would like to invite you to Show Stock U. Show Stock U will be conducted by Sullivan Supply. Participants are to bring a calf with them and take part in demonstrations on daily calf care, showmanship, fitting, clipping and a mock show. The event is FREE to participate, lunch will be provided and awards will be handed out, all complements of Sullivan Supply and Cherry Fork Farm Supply. It will be held at the Adams County Fairgrounds on April 2, 2016.

Youth Beef Industry Day

Ohio youth and their families are invited to attend Ohio Cattlemen’s Association and Weaver Leather Youth Beef Industry Day on March 6, 2016 from 8:00 am – 4:00 p.m. at the Eby Arena on the Madison County Fairgrounds, London, Ohio. Morning sessions will include a showmanship and daily care demonstration by Kirk Stierwalt. Additional age appropriate sessions will include:

  • Carcass Quality
  • Leadership
  • Careers
  • Cattlemen at the Capital – OCA Policy Update
  • Beef Quality Assurance

Wilmington College to Host Little International Showmanship Contest

The Little International at Wilmington College is a showmanship contest designed to teach 4-H and FFA members how to show multiple species. There will be three age divisions: Beginner (Ages 9-12), Intermediate (Ages 13-16), and Senior (Ages 17-21) – ages as of January 1, 2016. Four species will be shown: horse, beef cattle, sheep, and goats. Participants do not have to show every species; however it is a great learning experience. All animals and show equipment are provided. Each specie winner will be awarded a plaque and the overall winner will receive a larger prize! The contest will be April 2nd at the Wilmington College Equine Center, registration starting at 7:00 AM and going until 8:00 AM. From 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM they will have demonstrations on each species, with the contest starting right after. This is a perfect opportunity to show other species and gain new interests! Cost: $5 per class or $20 for all classes (pre-registered). $8 per class or $35 for all classes (day of show). Pre-Registration deadline: Postmarked by March 24, 2016.
