Do you have a story to share about the Ohio State Fair?

The Ohio State Fair staff is looking for some human interest stories related to people who have visited the Ohio State Fair.  See below.  Thanks for your cooperation.  Maybe we can get a 4-H related story in the press from Fairfield County!

They are looking for human interest stories for the following areas (or more, if you can think of someone). It could be a vendor who is celebrating an anniversary, someone who has been a visitor for many years, a person who exhibits annually, someone who enters unique recipes, etc. Newspapers and television stations love a unique human interest story, and they want to find them!

If you have anyone you know who has an interesting Ohio State Fair story to tell, please let Alicia Shoults know! She would greatly appreciate the following information so that they can research, reach out and pitch a story about them to their local newspaper. If possible, she would love to get any ideas you have by June 19th, 2017.

  • Name
  • Phone/email
  • Reason they are interesting (have been entering for years, met at the Fair, celebrating an anniversary of Fair involvement, etc.)

All About Dogs Project Information for State Fair

All About Dogs Interview Questions and Project Book Completion – With this being the first year for this project, judging at the Ohio State Fair Companion Animal Day (July 28th, 2017) will be one class for youth 8-18 years old until we have a better idea of age breakdown. This is an entry level project for youth who are exploring the 4-H dog project and are not yet ready to take a dog; therefore, most likely the majority of youth taking this project will be younger. A list of 30 questions, including the page number where the answers can be found, is posted at www.go.osu.edu/companionanimals on the Resource page. Instructions for recommended use are provided. Project book completion is also explained in the questions document.
