Many Fairfield County 4-Hers were recognized on April 4th, 2017 at the Achievement Banquet for winning various 4-H trips offered to Fairfield County 4-H teens who complete the Ohio 4-H Achievement Form. The following individuals have received these trip honors after completing excellent records this year.
Ohio 4-H Leadership Camp takes place at Camp Ohio, July 9 – July 13, 2017. Leadership Camp is the premiere leadership development opportunity available to Ohio 4-H members. The focus of the five-day leadership experience is the development of concrete peer leadership skills that will enable participants to have an immediate impact in their home 4-H club, county, community, or school. Congratulations to the following Leadership Camp Trip Award Winners: Derek Burns, Morgan Kaper, Emma Preston, Levi Hyme, Connor Marteney, Corinne Somers. Thank you to Nationwide and Farm Credit Mid-America for their state sponsorship of this camp in addition to their continued support of the Ohio 4-H Program. Additional trip sponsors include the Kiwanis Club of Lancaster and the 4-H Advisory Committee.
Sea Camp takes place at Kelleys Island 4-H Camp, July 8 – July 12, 2017. Ohio 4-H Sea Camp allows teens to “get their feet wet” as they learn about one of Ohio’s most important resources: Lake Erie! They are in, on and around the water as they explore the science of the lake, learn marine related skills, and discover the history and recreational uses of our great lake. Sea Campers will learn about safe boating in Ohio and have the opportunity to earn their Ohio Boater Education Certificate from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (NASBLA approved). Congratulations to the following Sea Camp Trip Award Winners: Gabby Gugliemotto, Lauren Preston, and Evan Young. Forestry Camp takes place at Camp Muskingum (home of FFA Camp) in Carrollton, Ohio, June 11 – June 16, 2017. Ohio Forestry Camp allows teens to further their interest in forestry and wildlife and gain a greater understanding and appreciation of Ohio’s forestry heritage. Congratulations to the following Forestry Camp Trip Award Winners: Grant Molnar and Ethan Kaper. Thank you to the 4-H Advisory Committee for sponsoring this trip for Fairfield County 4-H members.
Carving New Ideas takes place at Camp Ohio in the fall. The Carving New Ideas Workshop is fun and educational and is planned by the Collegiate 4-H Club at The Ohio State University.
