Derek Burns Receives State 4-H Award

The 2016 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards were presented recently at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus and Derek Burns was recognized with the National 4-H Dairy Conference Award which was sponsored by COBA/Select Sires.

Derek Burns, 14, is the son of Sheila and Don Burns from Baltimore in Fairfield County. He will be a freshman at Liberty Union High School in the fall. He has shown dairy, rabbits, sheep, goats and hogs. His interest in dairy has grown as a member of a dairy judging team and working on Marodore Farms.

The evening was hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation.

Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, with more than 285,000 young Ohioans participating in 4-H clubs, groups and special interest programs.
