The following was presented to an outstanding 4-H Advisor at the fairfield County 4-H Achievment Banquet on April 5th by Jim Sabin, Managing Editor of the Lancaster Eagle Gazette.
4-H Leadership is unique. Individuals serving as leaders in the 4-H Club program give much time, vision, and personal energy in helping youth to achieve individual goals. All of these leadership sacrifices are on a voluntary basis. Understanding and working with both boys and girls are some of the most rewarding adventures that over 300 4-H club leaders in Fairfield County take on each year.
Tonight we recognize 4-H Advisors in Fairfield County with the presence of an Advisor with 29 years of 4-H Leadership. This advisor came to Fairfield County in 2013 when her family moved here from Michigan. She was involved with 4-H in Indiana and as an advisor in Michigan for 16 years. She helped members train their dog projects and brought that specialty with her when she came to Fairfield County. Her two sons were involved with
4-H in Michigan so when they transferred their membership to the Just Kiddin’ 4-H Club she transferred her advisorship to that club as well. She has continued to help with the Just Kiddin’ club and will begin helping with the Fashion and Nutrition Board this year.
This advisor loves to square dance, sewing, and is just getting back from a birthday cruise.
Her involvement in 4-H has helped many 4-H’ers reach their goals through the leadership that she has so graciously given to each 4-H member. She definitely knows what it means to carry on the tradition of 4-H here in Fairfield County.
We recognize this advisor for her devoted interest in the 4-H club program of Fairfield County by presenting her with the Lancaster Eagle Gazette Orchid Award. We would like to recognize Sharon Shaw, for many years of Dedicated Service as a 4-H Advisor. Sharon truly demonstrates the Community Service Ideals of Ken and Charlotte Kerr.
Congratulations to Sharon Shaw.
