The Kentucky State Police Eastern Laboratory Branch is hiring for the position of Forensic Chemist I. The laboratory is located in Ashland, KY. This position will be trained in drug chemistry and toxicology (blood alcohols).
The Forensic Chemist Training Program lasts approximately one year and includes pertinent reading assignments, practical examinations on known specimens, a mock trial for testimony, and a competency test for each discipline for which an analyst works cases. Upon successful completion of the training program, the newly trained analyst will generally process casework under the direction of experienced analysts for a set period of time.
This position may be of interest to recent graduates. It requires a minimum of BS in Chemistry or BS in Forensic Science with an emphasis in chemistry. The position is open for applications until July 4, 2024.
