Sarepta Therapeutics is accepting applications for a bioprocessing research internship. This summer internship in downstream process development will give insight into the production process for complex biomolecules (e.g., adeno-associated virus) along with hands-on production experience using bioprocessing techniques, including bioreactors, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, and fast protein liquid chromatography.
Interns will not only have the opportunity to interact with the downstream team, but also the upstream and analytical development teams to learn how drug products are developed safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently from lab scale to commercial scale.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assist downstream scientists in the design, preparation, and execution of process development experiments
- Work independently on a research project (selected by the mentor) aimed at optimizing a select unit operation within the downstream process for AAV production
- Participate in weekly process development meetings
Desired Education and Skills:
- Undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, or bioengineering
- At least two semesters of laboratory course experience
This position is hybrid and will require work on-site at one of Serepta’s facilities in the United States.
