TODAY: Science Career Fair

The Science Career Fair will be held in-person TODAY, October 3rd from 12:00-4:00 PM EST in the Ohio Union Performance Hall (1st floor). This event is a great way to find an internship, a first job, or your next job!

The event is open to all current Ohio State University students and recent alumni.

There will be a large number of private, non-profit, governmental sector companies recruiting for Interns, R&D developers, chemists, microbiologists, lab technicians & scientists, pharmaceutical researchers & sales, medical consulting & sales, medical researchers, medical scribes, data scientists, software analysts, and many other related technical careers. Attending employers seek to fill full-time, entry-level positions, as well as summer internships.

Advanced research via Handshake is recommended to determine if a particular employer of interest will be in attendance and a good fit for your career advancement.

Bring the following when you attend:

  • While resumes are not required, it is strongly recommend that attendees come with 10-20 copies of their resumes.
  • Current Students: A valid BuckID is required to enter the fair on the day of the event.

2023 Career Week

Career Week is brought to you by Buckeye Careers and The Office of Student Life. The 2023 Career Week features more than 30 workshops, covering these topics and more:

  • Job search strategies
  • Writing an effective resume
  • Understanding your transferable skills
  • Interview skills
  • Salary negotiation

This is an opportunity to hear about these topics directly from employers.

Quantitative & Data Career Expo

Thursday, September 7th 2023, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm EDT
in the Ohio Union Performance Hall

The Quantitative & Data Career Expo is the premier Ohio State event for students seeking opportunities in the technology, data, and analytics sectors. The event is open to all current Ohio State students and recent graduates. It provides an opportunity for students to network with employers and learn about internship and career opportunities. Over 50 companies are expected to attend this event, so you do not want to miss it!  

Attending industry partners will be primarily interested in students with data, technology, and analytical skill sets.

Advanced research via Handshake is recommended to determine if a particular employer of interest will be in attendance and a good fit for your career advancement. You can also make an appointment via Handshake with a Career Coach to get assistance on your resume, interviewing skills, and/or job searches. Remember to bring your resume! Suggested dress code is business or business casual.

Attending employers seek to fill full-time, entry-level positions, as well as summer internships.

Current students must present a valid BuckID to enter the fair on the day of the event. Recent graduates do not need to bring a BuckID.

Diversity Case Study Competition

Participate in the 4th Annual Career Success Diversity Case Study Competition on Saturday, September 30th from 9 AM – 4 PM.

The Career Success Diversity Case Study Competition brings together top-level, diverse talent from the College of Arts and Sciences to conduct strategic analysis and offer solutions to a diversity-focused organizational problem.

Participants will be assigned to a team of four. The team will have one week to review the case, develop innovative solutions to the problem, and create a PowerPoint presentation.

The teams will present their solutions at the competition (Saturday, September 30th). Presentations are evaluated by a panel of employer judges on the overall quality, effectiveness, and feasibility of the case presentation. Judges are from a variety of employers, industries, and roles. More to be announced!

The competition is a resume booster that students can discuss during interviews. It is also an opportunity for students to with employers who value diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence. All ASC majors are welcome to participate!

You must attend an info session to be eligible to apply.

Attend one of two virtual info sessions on Tuesday, September 5th (2pm) or Thursday, September 7th (6pm) to learn more about the Competition, receive the application form, learn about the employer partners for the event, and ask questions before applying to participate.

If you are interested in the Competition, you must apply by Monday, September 18th at 11:59pm. Selected participants and teams will be announced on Wednesday, September 20th.

Ohio State Graduate & Professional School Fair

The Graduate and Professional School Fair welcomes students who are interested in pursuing their education further, connect with various schools and programs and learn more about the application and admissions process, such as:

  • What’s involved in applying?
  • What undergraduate courses and programs can help you prepare?
  • What programs are available at the different schools?

The fair hosts Graduate Schools from across the country and allows you to explore your options, gather information, and make connections with admission officers. The fair also gives you access to Grad School experts, who can provide invaluable tips and advice about the Graduate School admission process.

Pre-registration and professional dress are not required.

Interested in learning more about graduate & professional school before the fair? Register for the Grad School 101 workshop held virtually on Thursday, February 23. Participants will learn tips and tricks for navigating the grad school application process.

2023 OSU Summer Internship & Opportunity Fair

The 2023 Summer Internship and Opportunity Fair will be held on Tuesday, February 14, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Ohio Union Grand Ballroom.

This events targets undergraduate students interested in obtaining a resume-building opportunity for Summer 2023. This event hosts local, regional, and national organizations that are dedicated to diversity. These employers embrace, value, and live inclusive excellence.

Employers are excited to connect with you and discuss available internships, volunteer opportunities, and part-time work in the following areas:

  • Business-related functions
    For example: communications, advertising, public relations, marketing, retail management, sports management, and finance/financial services
  • Nonprofit management
    Organizations represent a variety of focus areas including the arts, healthcare, social services, women’s issues, and others
  • Summer and recreation camp counseling and management
    Summer day camps and resident camps will be in attendance as well as other recreational sports organizations

No pre-registration is required for students, but you are required to present a valid BuckID on the day of the event. You are also encouraged to prepare for the fair by having your resume reviewed. ASC Career Success: Careers in Biotech

The biotech sector is booming in central Ohio and across our region! Join some of the leading companies for an evening of networking, as part of the Careers in Biotech Connections Event on Monday, February 6th from 4 – 6 PM in Enarson Classroom Building 311.

The event will open with a panel discussion about trends in biotech along with existing and emerging career paths, advice for rising talent in the biotech space, and more. The event will conclude with ample opportunity to network. Spots are limited and students can register here.

2023 OSU Spring Career Fair

The annual Ohio State Spring Career Fair will take place on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Ohio Union.

The event is open to all current Ohio State University students and recent graduates and provides an opportunity for students to network with employers and learn about internship and career opportunities. The event will be held in two venues in the Ohio Union: The Grand Ballroom and the Performance Hall.

Attending employers recruit across a broad range of disciplines, including are opportunities for science and technology students in areas such as laboratory based research and development in medical and industrial settings, as well as computer science and engineering roles.

Advanced research via Handshake is recommended to determine if a particular employer of interest will be in attendance.

Attending employers seek to fill full-time entry-level positions as well as summer internships.

Pre-registration or RSVP for the Spring Career Fair is not required, but you are encouraged to indicate interest through Handshake.

  • Current Students: A valid BuckID is required to enter the fair on the day of the event.
  • Recent Graduates: We welcome you to the event and request that you drop off a copy of your resume at the registration desk upon arrival.

Virtual Career Fair for internships and fellowships with DoD

Join the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) on January 18, 2023, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET for a virtual career fair highlighting STEM internship and fellowship opportunities for college students and postgraduates at U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) research facilities around the country!

During the fair, attendees will have the chance to:

  • Explore paid internships and fellowships with DoD research facilities
  • Learn about DoD host facilities that host ORISE participants
  • Connect with ORISE program staff in 1-on-1 chats

Keynote Presentation: Dr. Victor Convertino, senior scientist with the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research, will give a live presentation at the event. His talk is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. ET.
