ORISE and ORAU Fellowship, Internship, and Career Opportunities

WW Teaching Fellowship

The WW Teaching Fellowship seeks to train highly talented STEM students and place them in high need schools in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. This fellowship program provides admission into a competitive Masters of Education program, clinical practice, certification, mentoring, and a $32,000 stipend.

To apply, you must have your bachelor’s degree in a STEM field by Spring 2021 (or 30 college credits in a STEM field), a cumulative GPA of a 3.0, and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Franklin International Internship Positions

Franklin International is currently seeking 3 interns, one for engineering and two for chemical lab work. The internship runs from November 1, 2020 until April 30, 2021, with the potential opportunity to stay on for the summer. Minimum pay is $15 per hour and hours are usually during the day Monday through Friday.

Job Opportunity – General Lab Analyst

The Ohio Water Microbiology Laboratory at The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey in Columbus, Ohio is in need of a student contractor to assist with general laboratory duties and environmental sample analyses. This position will start in May/June 2019 and will be up to full-time during the summer with a potential to continue as part-time into the fall and winter. Main duties include processing environmental samples for indicator bacteria and viruses using basic filtering and plating techniques, preparing media and reagents, and general upkeep and maintenance of lab and equipment.

Students who wish to apply should have a general background knowledge in biology, environmental science, and/or microbiology. Essential skills include ability to keep accurate records, follow established protocol, and the use of common computer software. Compensation is $13.70 per hour if above criteria are met.
