Annual Child Abuse & Neglect Training – Required Viewing for ALL 4-H Volunteers

All current 4-H volunteers must attend a 2021 Child Abuse & Neglect Training. Volunteers that have not attended the training at a 4-H Advisor Update or Committee Meeting, must view this video and follow the instructions at the end of the video. Training must be completed by April 15.

Annual 4-H Club Advisor Training

Our annual club advisor training will be held face-to-face and using online training videos. Here are the face-to-face sessions:

  • Monday, February 15 from 10:00 am – 12:00 at the Extension Office or
  • Monday, February 15 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 at the Extension Office or
  • Monday, February 15 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 at the Extension Office or
  • Thursday, February 18 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Extension Office.

At least one volunteer per club must attend a face-to-face training. All volunteers must complete the Annual Child Abuse and Neglect Training and Annual Update Video.

 

Topics will include: program updates for 2021, livestock updates, volunteer training topics, horse program update, Year-end 4-H Family Survey Results, virtual state opportunities, state & local social media pages, Online Enrollment Training

Ohio 4-H Conference – will be FREE and VIRTUAL!

Registrations are due by Friday, February 12 by 5:00 pm.

The 2021 Virtual Ohio 4-H Conference will bring together 4-H volunteers and teens (age 13 and older) from across Ohio. You can participate in a variety of educational sessions that offer something for everyone! Join us as we learn from one another to make the best better for Ohio 4-H programs.

Virtual sessions will start at:

  • 9:00 am on February 20 – Morning Tracks: Advisor Resources, Healthy Living and Growing 4-H Through Virtual Engagement
  • 1:00 am on February 20 – Afternoon Tracks:  Animal Science, Camp and Effective 4-H Clubs & Committee Tracks
  • 7:00 pm on February 23- Cloverbuds and Project Specific Tracks
  • 7:00 pm on February 25 – Leadership Skills and STEM Tracks

State 4-H Horse Advisor/Volunteer Training

The State 4-H Horse Advisor Volunteer training event will be held virtually this year.  Participants can watch presentations via OSU Scarlet which is the platform where modules of information will be posted to listen to at your own pace. Registered participants will be sent a link for an optional Q&A Zoom meeting on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with the State 4-H Horse Advisory Committee. The modules will be available for viewing from 9:00am Thursday, January 28th through 9:00pm Sunday, January 31st.  Interested volunteers should preregister by January 22, 2021.  Visit horse.osu.edu to find more details and register for the event.  A link will be sent to you for the scarlet modules and zoom session link once registration is complete.

Reminder to Volunteers – Child Abuse & Neglect Training

If you are a 4-H Volunteer and have not completed the Annual Child Abuse and Neglect training, there will be a virtual training offered on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 pm. No registration required.
