The summer is coming to a close and fair season is just around the corner. The Waterford Fair, Washington County Fair and Barlow Independent Fair are a great place to exhibit your club and your members 4-H projects. Advisors are encouraged to exhibit at one of the fairs in the county and may exhibit at more than one for promotion of their members and club activities. Waterford Fair booth reservation forms were due July 20. The Washington County Fair booth forms are due August 3rd, and Barlow Fair booth reservation forms are due August 24th. There are still spaces available for each of the fairs. You may drop off or email the booth reservation forms to firstname.lastname@example.org . Best of Luck to all the clubs exhibiting at the fairs. 4-H 2018 Theme is “We are 4-H Then, Now, & Forever”
The Washington County Livestock Committee has purchased a program that will be used at the Washington County Fair, Waterford Fair and Barlow Fair to help us with our shows and sales this year. This program is an online entry system for our livestock shows and showmanship classes. We have been diligently entering all the livestock animals into the program. Once the entries are complete it sends an email to the family letting them know their entry was successfully processed. Exhibitors do not need to do anything with the email. And if you did not receive an email you are fine as well. All entries are being made ahead of the fair to help make the shows and sales at the fair run efficiently. If you receive an email and have a concern you may call to inquire about the entry at the extension office. 740-376-7431.
Reminder of Barlow Tag-in on Saturday, July 21 from 8-10 AM at the Barlow Fairgrounds
This is for Feeder Calves & Market Dairy Goats. Market Dairy Goat exhibitors must bring their Breed Verification Card signed by the Breeder and Exhibitor. Cards are still available at the Extension Office if needed.
4-H Project Judging Results and 4-H Public Speaking Results are now posted to the 4-H webpage. Member score sheets can be picked up by advisors for distribution to members.
If a member is a state fair qualifier plans should be made to attend State Fair Orientation & Photos on Sunday, July 22 at 1:30 at the OSU Extension Office. This is a time for members and parents to pickup state fair packets and have photos taken for the media.
