Blake Campbell and Mariah Stollar were recognized this week at the Fawcett Event Center at The Ohio State University. They are 2 of the 20, Outstanding Senior Awards winners for The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.What an accomplishment!!

Open House at Mid-States

Open House at Mid-States March 24th, 11:00-1:00 pm.  LOTS of Pendleton wool for sale for 4-H and the Make It With Wool Program.  Refreshments, make it take it workshop and more!  Come and meet this years national winners from Ohio!  CanalWinchester, Ohio…9449 Basil Western Road.

Camp Hervida Cleanup – April 14

Part of the 2017 Cleanup Crew!!

Make a note for Saturday, April 14 on your calendar! It’s clean up time at 4-H Camp Hervida. Camp Clean-Up is another community service opportunity for your club.  Clean up begins at 9:00 AM.

Bring rakes, gloves, brooms, tarps for moving leaves and pickup trucks for hauling leaves to the compost pile. Members might want to wear gloves for raking leaves, stacking firewood and picking up brush. Also, do not forget sack lunches and beverages. Usually the cleaning is done around 12pm and lunch begins!  Camp Clean-Up will take place rain or shine. Please dress appropriately.

4-H Club Officer & Advisor Training – March 27

All 4-H club officers and advisors are invited to the March 27, 2018, 4-H Officer & Advisor Training at the Washington County Career Center.

All 4-H sessions will begin at 7:00 PM. Officer sessions will be taught by local adults and teens. Those being offered include:

  • President/Vice President
  • Secretary/News Reporter/Scrapbook/Historian
  • Treasurer
  • Health & Safety/Community Service
  • Recreation

A session will be offered for 4-H Club advisors to learn more about club programs, speakers and local tours available for clubs.

The program will end with an Installation Ceremony for all club officers.

 

Washington County Interstate Exchange Club- Peanut Butter Egg Fundraiser

The Washington County Interstate Exchange Club is holding its annual Peanut Butter Egg Fundraiser.  Orders are due by March 23.  Eggs are made by club members and volunteers.  The peanut butter eggs are 1lb and sell for $6 each.  Contact a club member or Ellie Tullius, advisor at tulliuse@gmail.com or the extension office-Kathryn Hartline 740-376-7431.  The club will be traveling to Wyoming this year and money raised helps send them.

4-H Shooting Sports Starting – March 18

4-H Shooting Sports Program Starts…its winter session at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 18 at Hervida 4-H Camp. Youth ages 9-19 are welcome to join in the fun while learning the basic skills of a shooting sports discipline. Choose from archery, pistol, rifle, shotgun, and/or living history. Bull’s Eye Pancake Fundraiser – April 14

Shooting Sports Fundraiser…Pancake Breakfast, Marietta Applebee’s Restaurant, 482 Pike Street, 8:30-10:30am, Saturday, April 14. Bull’s-Eye 4-H Club will receive 100% of the tickets sales. Applebee’s donates the food/beverages. The breakfast includes pancakes and beverage for $5. Walk-ins are welcome. A Silent Auction also will be held and closes at 10am. Thank you for your support to help purchase supplies, equipment and recognition items for the 4-H shooting sports program!
