Junior Fair Board Members…..We are making plans to attend the Ohio Junior Fair Conference on Saturday, January 6. We will be renting vans and leaving the OSU Extension Office at 202 Davis Ave at 6:30 a.m to attend the conference at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus, then arriving back at the Extension Office 5:30 p.m. Everyone that expressed interest should have received a permission form and conference schedule at the interviews. Please call the Extension Office at 740-376-7431 by Thursday, December 28 to reserve your seat if you are planning to attend.

Ohio 4-H Special Needs Camp
Ohio 4-H Special Needs Camp …. Dates for the Camp will be July 27-29, 2018 at Canter’s Cave. The Camp is open to any youth in Ohio who have needs that could not be accommodated in a traditional camp setting. Cost and registration information will be confirmed and sent in early 2018. There will again be an opportunity to apply to serve as a teen counselor at the Camp. Those applications will be due on April 1st. State 4-H Dog Training – Feb 3
Hey, 4-H Advisors – we’re going to the dogs! On Saturday, Feb. 3, the State 4-H Dog Advisory Committee is hosting a 4-H Dog Advisory Training from 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m. This training is for any 4-H advisor who has one or more youth taking dog projects in his/her club, regardless of whether the club is a general project club or a dogs-only project club.
Thanks to a grant from the Ohio 4-H Foundation, ONE advisor per county is invited to attend this training for FREE. Advisors interested in attending should contact their county Extension office. They will designate which advisor may attend for free; Registration for other advisors is $20.00 per person.
Registrations must be postmarked by Friday, January 19.

4-H Horse Bowl to Begin in January
The first meeting for 4-H Horse Bowl will be held in January. If you are interested in joining the Washington County Team please contact Pam Moore. The state horse bowl competition will be Saturday, April 7 in Columbus.
