The drug research and development process is highly complex, yet essential for delivering safe and effective therapies to patients. With a global network of facilities, Charles River Laboratories is an early-stage contract research organization (CRO) with a local touch. The company has dedicated employees around the world, and is passionate about its role in improving the quality of people’s lives. Together, they have supported the development of ~85% of the drugs approved by the FDA in 2019.

This is a Virtual Career Fair where you will meet with Charles River teams for early career opportunities at Charles River Laboratories nationwide. They are looking for candidates to fill technician, entry-level, and internship positions. If you are interested but unable to attend, simply register and we will reach out to you.

Networking: Environmental Sciences and Research

This is your chance to get comfortable with the “uncomfortable” and practice your communication skills. Explore and discuss opportunities within the environmental sciences and research industry by speaking with employers in the field. This is a unique opportunity for you to hear from experts who are attending just to answer your questions through a speed networking format where you will be provided with prompts to engage employers. You’ll have a chance to interact and network with these professionals during this exciting event. Your career choices are endless and include, among others: academic research, environmental field work, lab work, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

Interview with a Buckeye: February 18-19

Practice your interviewing skills.

Improve your interviewing confidence and your ability to make a positive impression, and increase your chances of succeeding in a post event (i.e. career fair, info session, etc.) interview by participating in the Interview with a Buckeye event February 18 and 19. Multiple time slots will be available on both days between 9am-4pm, with all mock interviews being held in 050 Denney Hall.

Connect with College of Arts and Sciences alumni who will provide feedback about your interviewing skills, answer questions you may have about interviewing, and provide tips for resume improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to network with Arts and Sciences alumni and to learn more about how they’re using their degree in the workplace.

ASC Life Beyond Degree: Biochemistry/Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with the Center for Career and Professional Success are hosting, Life Beyond Degree: Biochem/Chem; an interactive presentation about networking best practices followed with a networking mix and mingle event with alumni! You will learn best practices on how to create your own elevator pitch, use social media platforms to network with alumni and employers, utilizing LinkedIn, Alumnifire, and more!

Meet and network with alumni in speed networking sessions and implement the strategies learned in the workshop for part two of the event; an opportunity to practice what you learned and connect with alumni from your degree! “Speed dating” rounds will provide you with a great opportunity to chat one on one or in a small group with alumni to gather how they transformed their degree into a career. We encouraged you to attend both sessions but it is not a requirement. Free food and beverages!

Chemistry & Biochemistry Club Ice Cream Social

The Chemistry & Biochemistry club invites all students and faculty in the department to enjoy Grater’s ice cream together at the Mirror Lake Amphitheater (Browning Amphitheater) on Thursday, August 22 between 3:00pm and 5:00pm!

This is an opportunity to get some ice cream and learn more about the Chemistry & Biochemistry Club. Students are invited to join the club for exciting events, captivating speakers, pizza, and fun!
