This Spring, Chemistry 5430 (Carbohydrate Chemistry) will be a course offering.
Carbohydrate Chemistry topics include degradative reactions in acids and bases, protecting group manipulations, strategies and functional group inter-conversions, reactions at the anomeric center and pseudosugars, chemical glycoside synthesis, NMR of carbohydrates, biosynthesis of carbohydrates and enzymatic synthesis methods, and biology of carbohydrates.
When?
- Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:35 a.m.- 10:55 a.m.
With who?
- Dr. Christopher Callam
Why?
- Gain a better understanding of glycol-science
- Develop knowledge of synthesis, conformation, and biological importance of carbohydrates and oligosaccharides
