4-H Toy & Canned Food Drive – Items Due December 4
Washington County 4-H is partnering with the Salvation Army Washington County Angel Tree program to collect toys and non-perishable food for area families.
1. Toys must be newly purchased and unwrapped
2. Non-perishable unexpired foods (boxed or canned)
3. Washington County 4-H will be taking donations until Wednesday, December 4 at 4:00 pm
4. All unwrapped toys and food must be dropped at the OSU Extension Office located at 1115 Gilman Ave, Marietta. There will be a box in the building front lobby and in the Extension Office Lobby

The 4-H Advisory Committee is looking for a new county-wide theme for 2025. The deadline to submit ideas is Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
The 2024 theme was – “4-H – From Clovers to Careers”. You can submit up to five different 2025 theme ideas via this survey!
Camp Hervida Dinner & Fundraiser – Nov 9

Doors open 5:30 p.m., Dinner 6:00 p.m., Drawing 7:00 p.m. – Churchtown K of C Hall, SR 676
$40 ticket (dinner and drawings for cash prizes) – Contact a board member or the Extension Office to purchase a ticket.
Your club can provide a community service to our county-owned 4-H camp facility by being workers, donating an item to the silent auction and/or providing desserts at the Building Fund Drawing & Silent Auction on Saturday, November 11. This year’s proceeds will go toward operating expenses & kitchen improvements.
Workers are needed to clear tables and clean up the kitchen from 6:00 p.m. until finished. Another work crew is needed to tear down tables and chairs at the end of the fund raiser from 9 p.m. until finished. 4-H club members, parents and advisors who are signed up to work receive a free meal and do not need to purchase a $40 ticket.
An item for the silent auction can be made or solicited from a business by your club. Various kinds of gift baskets, gift certificates, novelties, tools, decorations, etc. are appropriate. Items can be dropped off at the Extension Office before Saturday or at the K of C Hall on Saturday by 4 p.m.
A total of 30 desserts are needed to help keep the meal costs down. Your club could provide one or more pies or cakes. Desserts can be dropped off at the Extension Office before Saturday or at the K of C Hall on Saturday by 4 p.m.

Applications now Open for National 4-H Conference
Applications are now open for Ohio 4-H Delegates to the 2025 National 4-H Conference!
Any 4-H member in Ohio ages *14-18 is able to apply by completing the Qualtrics survey linked below
Sample Application: 2025 National 4-H Conference Delegate Application Questions
Basic Information:
- National 4-H Conference is specifically focused on civic engagement, civic education, and personal development. Delegates arrive ready to connect, learn, engage, lead, and impact their communities, their nation, and their world. In 2024, National 4-H Conference returns for youth delegates to attend in-person in Washington, D.C., April 10-16, 2025 (Ohio delegates arrive a day early on April 10. Conference begins April 11).
- Interested Ohio 4-H members must complete an application via Qualtrics (linked at bottom) by December 1 at 11:59 p.m. *Applicants must be 15-18 as of January 1, 2025, and currently enrolled as an Ohio 4-H member in 2025.
- After an application is received, the State 4-H Office will request a referral from county 4-H professional for the respective candidate.
- A selection board of advisors, 4-H educators, and past attendees will review applications and conduct interviews, as needed.
- Those selected will be expected to fully engage in all pre-conference and conference activities and adhere to all National 4-H guidelines, complete all required work as a result of conference participation, and share knowledge gained with Ohio 4-H upon their return.

Wash Co Fair Livestock Sale Checks
COUNTY FAIR SALE CHECKS: Checks can be picked up October 12 & 13, 2024 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Senior Fair Board Office, 922 Front St, Marietta. A W-9 must be completed and on file at the Sr Fairboard Office when the sale check is picked up. Printed forms are available at the Sr Fairboard Office for new exhibitors. If exhibitors already completed a form in 2022 or 2023, then another form is not needed. New exhibitors can pick up, complete, and turn in a W-9 at the Sr Fairboard Office.

TCS – 4-H Themed Ornaments
TCS Paper Clover dates have changed this year, and the campaign will now start on Nov. 29 and end Dec. 15.
As a precursor to the Paper Clover fundraiser and in tandem with National 4-H Week, TSC will also have 4-H-themed ornaments available for purchase. Sales officially begin Oct. 7 but select stores may have them available this week.
