Jr Fair Royalty Announced for Local Fairs

The 2024 Washington County Junior Fair royalty competition was held on Monday, August 12 by OSU Extension at First Presbyterian Church in Marietta. Eleven royalty candidates participated in an individual interview with two panel judges and a public speaking event.  Five youth were chosen for the junior fair royalty court to serve at the Washington County, Waterford Community, Barlow Independent Fairs.

2024 Washington County Jr. Fair Royalty:

  • Queen Taylor Starkey, Bullseye 4-H Shooting Sports Club and Waterford FFA. Daughter of Joseph and Katie Starkey of Waterford and she is a senior at Waterford High School.
  • Princess Christy Willis, Salem Liberty Homemakers & Lower Salem Boys 4-H Club and Fort Frye FFA. Daughter of Scott & Jeanann Willis and attends Fort Frye High School as a Junior.
  • Jr. Princess Leia Barnett, Palmer Lads & Lassies 4-H Club and Waterford FFA. Daughter of Samantha Tornes of Stockport and Leia attends Waterford High School.
  • Prince Maddox Antill, Running Wild 4-H Club. Son of Rusty & Missy Antill of Beverly.  Maddox will be a 9th grader at Waterford High School.
  • Dairy Princess Alexis Smith, Backyard Gang 4-H Club and Marietta FFA. She is the daughter of Johnna Hartline & Brandon Smith. Alexis attends Marietta High School as a 10th grader.
