Join the Northwest Ohio Women in Agriculture Roundtable on November 13 at 6:00 PM to learn strategies for blending family and farm budgets for long-term success. The event will take place at the Black Swamp Nature Center, located at 753 Fairground Drive, Paulding, OH 45879. (Please note this is a last minute location change.)

This welcoming event offers local female farmers, farm wives, female agribusiness professionals, or anyone interested in agriculture a chance to connect over dinner while staying informed about the latest agricultural trends and local updates. Explore the Future of Farming at the 2025 Farm Science Review

Mark your calendars! The 2025 Farm Science Review returns to the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio, from Tuesday, September 16 through Thursday, September 18, running daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This annual event brings together agriculture professionals, enthusiasts, families, and students of all ages to explore the latest in farm technology, education, and hands-on demonstrations. With 100 acres of exhibits, 150+ educational seminars, and live field demonstrations—including corn and soybean harvests, tillage, baling, drone technology, and drainage techniques—there’s something here for everyone, from seasoned farmers to curious kids.

Tickets are available now! Kids 5 and under get in free, and parking is also free.

Whether you’re looking to grow your farm, expand your knowledge, or just enjoy a day outdoors with the family, the Farm Science Review is the place to be this fall.

For the 10th year, Ohio State University (OSU) Extension will empower women, high school-age and beyond, through its East Ohio Women in Agriculture Conference. Conference session topics are geared to beginning and small farm owners as well as to farms looking to diversify their operations. There will be five different conference tracks including Horticulture and Crop Production, Business Management, Livestock, Natural Resources, and Diversifying Your Enterprise. Looking for Women in Agriculture for Questionnaire Research Study

Dr. Mary Rodriguez and Alexis Zickafoose from The Ohio State University are researching to better understand how being involved in a cooperative can influence women’s agricultural enterprise self-efficacy. They hope to learn more about women’s experiences in agriculture and their agricultural enterprise self-efficacy. If you agree to participate, the questionnaire should take no more than 15 minutes of your time. The responses provided will be reported together so that individual participants will be protected. There are no risks in this study in addition to the risks that you face in everyday life.

LONDON, Ohio – More than 50 companies will join the ranks as exhibitors for the 61st Farm Science Review Sept. 19-21 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center. The new exhibitors represent various sectors in the agriculture industry including livestock handling, equipment advancements, agronomic technology, agricultural policy, and more.

USDA National Ag Statistics Cash Rent Estimates release on Friday, August 25

The USDA NASS Ohio Cash Rent County Estimates for 2023 were released by NASS this past Friday. The attached Excel file contains the 2017 through 2023 county average estimates. This data can be accessed directly through NASS Quick Stats.

Full- and part-time farmers and ranchers are welcome to participate and may choose to enter a raffle to win one of fifty $50 checks.

2023 Small Farm Conference Registration Open!

Ohio State Extension announced plans to host a Small Farm Conference in Mansfield Ohio on March 11, 2023.  The theme for this year’s Mid-Ohio Small Farm Conference is “Sowing Seeds for Success.”

Conference session topics are geared toward beginning and small farm owners as well as farms looking to diversify their operations.  There will be five different conference tracks including Farm Office, Horticulture and Produce Production, Livestock, Agritourism/ Marketing, and Natural Resources.

Some conference topic highlights include: How to purchase our family farm, food animal processing, beekeeping, sweet corn, blueberry and pumpkin production, small ruminant nutrition, agritourism laws, fruit tree pruning, and cut flower diseases.

Anyone interested in developing, growing, or diversifying their small farm is invited to attend including market gardeners, farmers market vendors, and anyone interested in small farm living.

Attendees will have the opportunity to browse a trade show featuring the newest and most innovative ideas and services for their farming operations. The conference provides an opportunity to talk with the vendors and network with others.

The Conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Mansfield OSU Campus in Ovalwood Hall, just minutes from I-71 and US Rt 30.
