Dean’s Student Advisory Board: Seeking UG Applicants

Apply for a two-year position on the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Student Advisory Board. The Board consists of fifteen students who advise the Dean on matters pertaining to students such as academics and student life.

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in the College of Arts and Sciences and enrolled on the Columbus campus. Because these positions are for two years commencing Autumn 2024, applicants should not plan to graduate before Spring 2026. Meetings are held approximately once a month during the academic year from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on a weekday. To apply: combine a one-page resume and the completed application into one pdf document and send as an email attachment to ascstudents@osu.edu. Student Experience and Engagement Delegates (SEEDs) Program

You can help drive change, share your feedback and ideas as we create an extraordinary experience at Ohio State by applying for the Student Experience and Engagement Delegates (SEEDs) program.

Led by Dr. Melissa Shivers, Senior Vice President for Student Life, the program serves as a way for the university to gather feedback and ideas from as many students as possible. All undergraduate, graduate and professional students from any campus are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted Sunday, February 21 – Sunday, March 21.

Selected SEEDs members will commit to:

  • Attending monthly meetings with Melissa Shivers, Student Life leaders, student government leaders, university guests and other students
  • Providing feedback about a variety of topics including, but not limited to, campus policies, climate, engagement, barriers and support that is crucial to student success
  • Offering solution-oriented ideas that will advance the Ohio State student experience
  • Engaging as an active participant in special events, initiatives and potential recruitment of prospective students

LeaderShape 2016

The application deadline for this opportunity is Friday, March 11.

Are you interested in building your leadership skills? The LeaderShape Program at Ohio State will be held August 14-19 and will challenge participants to lead with integrity.

The LeaderShape Institute is the flagship program from the national organization LeaderShape, Inc.  The six day program includes dialogue and interactive self-discovery in a supportive learning community. The goal is to develop lifelong leadership skills, create a vision for the future, and to be able to lead with integrity.  Through utilizing interactive program methods rather than classroom lectures, everyone becomes a teacher and a learner. Students get to discover what they want to do and who they want to be.
