REMINDER: 2021 Hartford Junior Fair Turkey Pool Orders Due

The 2021 Hartford Junior Fair Turkey Pool orders are due with payment by 4:00pm on Friday, March 5, 2021. Orders must be dropped off or mailed into the Licking County OSU Extension Office at 771 East Main St., Suite 103, Newark, OH 43055 by the deadline. All meat turkey projects will come from the Hartford Fair meat turkey pool. If you plan to exhibit a meat turkey in 2021, you must have your order in by the deadline in order to participate in the meat turkey class at the Hartford Fair. Siblings may share an order of chicks, otherwise each exhibitor must place an individual order.

Anticipated chick pickup will be Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Details regarding delivery date / time / location will be emailed to those who placed orders approximately one week prior to chick pickup.

The 2021 Hartford Junior Fair Livestock/Animal Requirements Summary is now available. This document has all of the dates and requirements for all species that show at the Hartford Fair. Please review it to ensure you are up-to-date on any species your youth plan to show in 2021.

 

2021 4-H Dairy Judging Contest

The 2021 4-H Dairy Judging Contest will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00am at Shipley Dairy Farm. All 4-H youth who will be enrolled in a Licking County 4-H Dairy Project in 2021 are invited to participate.

Please note the following changes to the 2021 program:

  • Only 4-H members who will be enrolled in a 2021 Dairy Project are eligible to participate.
  • There will NOT be lunch or a Quality Assurance program provided.
  • Only one adult may attend with each youth/family in order to adhere to program capacity limits (50 person capacity for the event).
  • Facial coverings must be properly worn in order to attend and participants should adhere to all social distancing guidelines.
