All Dairy Feeders must be weighed, tagged, and vaccinated at the Dairy Feeder weigh-in at the Hartford Fairgrounds on the west end of Grubb Arena on Saturday, June 7, 2025 between 8:00-11:00am. The cost is $10 per animal. All dairy feeders must be dehorned / castrated prior to arrival on June 1st.

There will be a Dairy Feeder Clinic and Preview Show following this event.

LAST CHANCE: Breeding Beef IDs Due May 15

PLEASE NOTE: The due date for Breeding Beef photos to be uploaded in FairEntry was listed as two different dates (May 1st and May 15th). To ensure everyone has the time to complete this step, Breeding Beef photos will be due May 15th. We apologize for any confusion.

EAR TAGS… All Breeding Beef project animals MUST HAVE 840 RFID TAG in their ear. If you (or the breeder) have not already tagged the animal with an 840 RFID tag, please know that tags are available at both the Hartford Fair Office and the Licking County Extension Office. These tags are being provided at no cost, but can only be used or project animals that will be exhibited at the 2025 Hartford Fair. The tag must be in place prior to photos being taken, and prior to those photos being uploaded in to the FairEntry system.

PHOTOS DUE… All Breeding Beef animals intended to be shown at the Hartford Fair MUST UPLOAD TWO PHOTOS in to FairEntry by no later than May 15th. One photo must be a side view of the animal, while the second should be a photo of the RFID tag inserted in the ear. Instructions are provideĀ HERE. At the time of uploading photos, additional information such as RFID number, breed, and registration number (if applicable) will be needed…

A few things to note…

  • DO NOT submit your Breeding Beef IDs in 4-HOnline. Any photos submitted there will NOT meet the requirements and those animals will not be eligible to show at the fair. ALL Breeding Beef IDs must be submitted through hartfordfair.fairentry.com.
  • When logging into FairEntry, if you have a youth project member enrolled through 4-HOnline, you will use the same email and password to log into the GREEN 4-HOnline box at hartfordfair.fairentry.com. If your youth is ALSO in FFA, you will still log in this way. If you have a youth who is enrolled in 4-H and another youth who is enrolled in FFA, you will still log in this way. Cloverbud Members and Advisors do NOT import into the FairEntry system.
  • If your youth is ONLY enrolled in FFA, you will need to login/create a profile using the BLUE FairEntry box below the 4-HOnline box.
  • Please do not wait until the last minute and reach out to Adrienne at anderson.1410@osu.edu if you have issues logging into FairEntry or submitting your IDs. Any questions about picking up tags, borrowing the taggers, or tagging your cattle should be directed to the Hartford Fair Office at 740-893-4881.

LAST CHANCE: Market Hog IDs Due May 15

All Market Hogs intended to be shown at the Hartford Fair MUST UPLOAD THREE PHOTOS in to FairEntry by no later than May 15, 2025. One photo must be a side view of the animal, the second should be a front view, and the third must be a photo where the ear tag is in the hog’s ear and readable. Instructions are provided on the Hartford Fair website HERE. At the time of uploading photos, additional information such as the official RFID tag number, barrow or gilt, and animal markings description will be needed. A member may ID up to four hogs.

Members must also submit a Swine Tagging Form to the Hartford Fair Office by May 15, 2025. It is preferred that the tag be placed in the hog’s right ear when possible. This form is a fillable PDF and can be dropped off, mailed, or emailed to the Hartford Fair Office.

If a member’s hog is not housed at their home or at a property owned by their parent/guardian, they must also submit a Swine Housing Form. This form is also due to the Hartford Fair Office by May 15, 2025.

If you need an 840 tag for your hog, those can be purchased from the Hartford Fair Office for $5. Taggers are also available for you to borrow to tag your hogs. If exhibitors already have their own 840 tags, they may use those. If your hog already has an 840 tag in its ear, DO NOT tag them with a second 840 tag! Hogs should NEVER be tagged with more than one 840 tag.
