REMINDER: 2025 Licking County 4-H Project Judging Appointment Registration

Licking County 4-H Project Judging will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at CTEC (150 Price Rd, Newark, OH 43055). All still projects (clothing, food, and special interest) will be judged on this day. Members must register for a judging appointment by 9:00am on Monday, July 7, 2025. You will need to complete a survey for each project that needs judged.

Before completing the registration, please review the list of which projects are being judged by each judge. You will need to know which judge will be judging your project before you complete the registration. You can view the list by Project Number or by Project Name. Once you know which judge number you will need for each project being judged, please complete the registration by visiting: http://go.osu.edu/licking4hjudging. Once you have completed the registration, within a few minutes you will receive an email with a summary of your response. If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder as that is where automatic responses often end up. If your child has more than one project to be judged, you will need to complete the survey for each project.

If you have more than one project, please pay attention when scheduling that you do not select the same time slot so that we avoid having members scheduled to be at two judges at the same time. We encourage you to make sure there is at least 1-2 time slots between your appointments to allow you time to leave your first judging appointment to come gather your project for your next judging appointment.

If you find that you need to change your judging appointment or you will no longer be attending judging, please reach out to Adrienne Anderson at anderson.1410@osu.edu so that we can open that appointment up for another member.

If when you go to register, all of the appointments for the judge you need are full, please reach out to Adrienne so we can add more judging appointment slots.

We look forward to seeing you at project judging!

Coming July 30: Meet the Authors of the Exploring Polar Science and Growing with the Seasons 4-H projects!

Authors Jason Cervenec and Molly Hunt will present the Ohio 4-H project, Exploring Polar Science. In this project, members learn about the geography, glaciers, sea ice, plants, and animals of the Arctic and Antarctica. Exploring Polar Science is for intermediate-level members who have some experience with natural resources topics.

As a bonus, learn even more about 4-H natural resource projects with Lydia Ulry, the author of another individual 4-H project, Growing with the Seasons, which helps youth learn how to check their soil, develop a garden plan, distinguish beneficial insects from harmful ones, and harvest vegetables at the right time. This project is also for intermediate-level members—it’s intended for those with some vegetable gardening experience.
