4-H CARTEENS Facilitators Needed

The Licking County 4-H CARTEENS program is looking for teen facilitators. The 4-H CARTEENS is a teen leadership program in partnership with the Licking County Juvenile Courts to teach safe driving practices to minors who have made traffic violations. The program is held once a month, typically on the first Thursday of the month, from 5:00-7:00pm. Facilitators help set up the materials, check in participants, introduce speakers, and work with groups with hands-on activities.

Youth should be at least 15-years-old to become a facilitator. CARTEENS can help teens to focus on learning leadership and public speaking skills. It is a great opportunity for those teens who may want to be involved in a 4-H Teen Leader activity, but may not have the time to commit to some of the more time intensive opportunities. Hours working with CARTEENS are eligible for school volunteer requirements and facilitators are eligible to apply for a scholarship their senior year of high school.

If you have questions or would be interested in becoming a CARTEENS facilitator, please contact Adrienne at anderson.1410@osu.edu or 740.670.5315.

Licking County 4-H CARTEENS

The Licking County 4-H CARTEENS program is a traffic safety program for first-time juvenile traffic offenders. In partnership with the Licking County Probate Court-Juvenile Division and local law enforcement, a monthly two-hour traffic safety education program is facilitated by 4-H teen members. The CARTEENS introduce guest speakers, lead group-learning activities focused on traffic safety and provide overall coordination of the session. A Juvenile Court representative and officer from the Heath Police Department provide materials resources and serve as guest speakers.

If you would like to help educate your peers about traffic safety, improve your public speaking and presentation skills and want a great way to help your community, consider becoming a 4-H CARTEENS facilitator. Teens who are at least 15 years old and can commit to volunteering for three hours each month are welcome to learn more about becoming apart of CARTEENS. For more information, contact Adrienne Anderson at 740-670-5315 or by email at: anderson.1410@osu.edu

4-H Teen Interest Inventory

4-H teens (ages 14+ as of 1/1/19) in Licking County should have received an interest inventory of 4-H teen opportunities by email. If you did not receive an email, the Interest Inventory can be found here: Interest Inventory

Please have your teen fill out the inventory and return it to our office by Friday, September 21, 2018 so that we can ensure your teen gets the information they need.
