Licking County 4-H Horse ID Forms are due, along with the required fee, to the Licking County 4-H Horse and Pony Council by Thursday, April 18, 2024. Forms should either be mailed to: LC4-HHPC, P.O. BOX 87, Kirkersville, OH 43033 or can also be hand-delivered to a LC4-HHPC representatives between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18th at the Extension Office.

2024 Horse Project Completion Guidelines
Horse project members can review the 2024 Licking County 4-H Horse Project Completion Guidelines to ensure they know what all needs to be completed based on the horse project in which they enroll. If you have questions on completion requirements for your horse project, please check with your club advisors.
2024 Spring Horse Clinic
The Licking County 4-H Horse and Pony Council will host their annual 4-H Horse Clinic on Saturday, April 20, 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for all horse project members.

Southeastern Ohio Horse Shows at the Hartford Fairgrounds
The Southeastern Ohio Horse Show Organization will hold a series of shows at the Hartford Fairgrounds from May through September. This could be a close opportunity for horse project members to have additional experience showing. You can find more details on their Facebook Page.

2024 Horse Royalty Application
The 2024 Licking County 4-H Horse & Pony Council Queen/King & Princess/Prince Royalty Application is now available. Please review all requirements and guidelines within the application. The Licking Valley Raiders will hold their annual Tack Auction on Saturday, March 16, 2024 starting at 3:00pm at Licking Valley High School.

Equine Education Competition Teams Forming
Have you ever considered getting involved in Horse Bowl, Hippology or Horse Judging, but didn’t know where to start? We’ve got just what you need! An informational session will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, that will help you in better understanding each event, and allow you to sign up to participate! For those who have competed previously, please know that we want you to attend as well! The Hippology and Horse Bowl Contests will be held on April 6th at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, and the Judging contest on July 15th at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. Members enrolling in a Horse project are eligible to participate.

There is also a clinic on Saturday, March 2nd on the OSU campus that you can attend to better understand how the contests will operate and to learn about different horse related topics. You can register online on the state website. If you are planning on participating in the contests, we would strongly suggest signing up for this clinic.
