4-H Camp Ohio Camp Cultural Buddies Needed

Please see the message below from 4-H Camp Ohio Volunteer, Jennifer Imbody:

4-H Camp Ohio Community,

As we gear up for another exciting summer ahead, I’m reaching out to invite you to be a part of something special that will not only enhance our staff’s experience but also strengthen the bonds within our camp community.

One of the key ingredients to the success of our camp is the dedicated and passionate team of individuals who work tirelessly to create memorable experiences for our campers. However, we understand that the summer can be intense and demanding for our staff, which is why it’s essential to provide opportunities for them to unwind, relax, and recharge.

With this in mind, we are launching a new initiative to organize outings for our camp staff throughout the summer, Camp Cultural Buddies. These outings will serve as a chance for our hardworking team to connect outside of the camp environment, enjoy some downtime, and foster a sense of camaraderie that extends beyond the workplace.

But to make these outings a reality, we need your help! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are willing to step up and take on the role of hosting these outings. Whether it’s a day trip to a nearby hiking trail, a picnic in the park, a beach day, or any other fun activity you can think of, your creativity and enthusiasm will be the driving force behind making these outings a success.

Here’s what we’re looking for in our volunteer hosts:

1. Passion for Bringing People Together: We’re looking for 4-H volunteers who love bringing people together and creating memorable and cultural experiences for our camp staff.

2. Organizational Skills: As a host, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating the outing. We will ensure that the date you prefer will match up with one to two camp staff members days off. Coordinating communication between host and camp staff you can contact Jenn Imbody (contact information below).

3. Creativity: We want our outings to be fun and engaging, so we’re looking for hosts who can think outside the box and come up with unique and exciting cultural activities. A few ideas our staff have expressed interest in are: Hocking Hills/State park hiking, Columbus Zoo/The Wilds, Amusement Park/Water Park, baseball/sporting events, COSI, lake excursions, Capital city exploration/The North Market, Local city exploration… ETC.

If you’re interested in volunteering to host an outing, please let us know. We’ll provide you with all the support and resources you need to plan and execute a successful outing. Camp staff have limited funds to use towards their entertainment, therefore when planning please keep this in mind.

Thank you in advance for considering this opportunity to give back to our incredible camp community. Together, we can make this summer one to remember for our dedicated camp staff!

Warm regards,
Jennifer Imbody
