Lisa McCutcheon Receives National Honor

Congratulations to Lisa McCutcheon! She was recognized for 25 Years of Service by the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (NAE4-HYDP). She, along with other colleagues from across the country, were recognized for this honor on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the 2025 NAE4-HYDP Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

REMINDER: 2026 Hartford Fair Junior Fair Board Application Due Soon

Come be a part of the team! The application for the 2025 Hartford Fair Junior Fair Board is now available HERE. Completed applications must be turned in by November 15, 2025. Applicants must be age 14 as of 01/01/2026 to apply for the junior fair board. Interviews will take place on Saturday, December 6th at the Licking County Extension Office. Once you have submitted your application, please call our office at 740-670-5315 to schedule your interview.

REMINDER: 2026 Food and Fashion Board Application Due Soon

The application for the 2026 Licking County 4-H Food and Fashion Board now available and is due by November 15, 2025. To be eligible to apply, members must at least 14 years old as of January 1, 2026. Members are NOT required to take a foods or clothing project in the current year that they are serving on the board, but should show an interested in 4-H foods and clothing projects and have taken those projects at some point during the 4-H career. Members will serve in a leadership role to support the food and clothing project areas. Members will plan and host workshops, help with judging, plan and run the style revue, and host other events to support our Licking County 4-H members. The application is due by Interviews will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 3:00-4:00pm and 7:00-8:00pm. 2026 Camp Counselor Applications are NOW AVAILABLE for Summer Camp and Cloverbud Day Camp! Applications and reference forms must be submitted by Saturday, November 15, 2025! Interviews will be held for new candidates on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

Join the Ohio 4-H Foundation Board—Apply by November 3!

The Ohio 4-H Foundation is led by a volunteer board made up of business leaders, Extension staff, community members, and youth representatives from across the state. The board supports 4-H by reviewing funding proposals, awarding scholarships, and guiding investments that benefit youth development programs. It also serves as a key advisory and outreach group for OSU Extension.

They are currently seeking applicants for two open positions:

  • Early Career Professional: Ohio 4-H alumni ages 21–30. Term: Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2028
  • Teen Member: Current 4-H members ages 14–18 as of Jan. 1, 2025. Term: Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2028

REMINDER: Camp Life at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp

Camp Life at Canter’s Cave is here! Join us November 15 & 16 at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp. Learn skills you’ll actually use – like sewing on a button, preparing a meal, and basic car care – then kick back and relax with Ohio State Buckeyes tailgate, dance, and campfire. A weekend of life skills + camp vibes = memories made.

Open to teens in grades 7 – 12. Register at go.osu.edu/CantersCampLife by November 1. The $40.00 registration fee includes a life skills kit to take home. Youth DO NOT need to be 4-H members to attend!

REMINDER: Carving New Ideas Camp at 4-H Camp Ohio

Boogie into Leadership this November at Carving New Ideas (CNI), held at 4-H Camp Ohio! CNI is a statewide camping opportunity that focuses on workforce development, future-forward thinking, and program facilitation for 4-H members in grades 8-12. Campers develop their leadership skills while making new friends from across Ohio. Held at 4-H Camp Ohio, this fall camping experience fosters new ways of thinking as older youth begin to explore their future careers and educational paths. Hosted by Collegiate 4-H at The Ohio State University, Collegiate 4-H members serve as session presenters, camp counselors, advisors, and more.

Registration Fee: $115.00 (includes t-shirt and all meals)

Check-in: Friday, November 21, 2025 in the evening
Check-out: Sunday, November 23, 2025 in the morning

National 4-H AI Challenge

Are you ready to tackle a real-world agricultural issue in your community and pitch your solution on a national stage? The 2025 Fall National 4-H AI Challenge focuses on agriculture issues and is open from now until November 15 for youth ages 13–15 and 16–18. This challenge invites youth to explore local agricultural issues, go on a photo-walk, brainstorm AI-powered solutions, and create short videos to pitch their ideas and solutions. Adrienne and Lisa are Headed to Atlanta!

Adrienne and Lisa will be out of the office October 27-31, 2025 as they are traveling to Atlanta, GA to attend the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (NAE4-HYDP) Annual Conference. This conference is a great professional development opportunity and each year Adrienne and Lisa bring back ideas and resources to help improve the Licking County 4-H Program. Both will still be checking emails and voicemails throughout the week, but please know that they may not respond as quickly as they normally do.
