Save the Date! 2022 Advisor Trainings

Licking County 4-H Advisors are required to attend one of the advisor trainings that will be offered in 2022. We wanted to pass along those dates so that you can be sure to leave at least one of those dates free so that you can complete this mandatory training/update. As of right now, we are planning for these trainings/updates to be held in-person.

Saturday, January 29, 2022 – 9:00am: We are bringing back our traditional advisor training/update and kickoff to the 4-H season! We encourage as many advisors as possible to attend this first training to get all of the important information and your club resources. We are working on securing a larger location that will allow space for more attendees.

Monday, February 7, 2022 – 7:00pm: Location to be determined

Thursday, February 17, 2022 – 7:00pm: Location to be determined

If you are not already a 4-H advisor but are considering applying to be one in 2022, please also put these dates on your calendar. New advisors will also need to attend one of these trainings. The new advisor application for 2022 will be coming soon!

Ohio 4-H Foundation is Searching for Teen Members

The Ohio 4-H Foundation is searching for 4-H Youth Representatives to serve on it’s board. The Ohio 4-H Foundation is guided by a volunteer Board, comprised of business and industry leaders, Extension personnel, and 4-H youth representatives from around the state. The Board reviews proposals and distributes endowment interest income for the training of volunteer leadership and the recognition of 4-H members through scholarships, awards and positive youth development experiences.

Here are specific responsibilities of board members:

•Attend three face-to-face meetings that are held throughout the state or by Zoom (one in January, one in spring, one in fall).

•Serve on a committee. The committees typically meet one time a month via Zoom (often times the committees meet during the day).

•Assist with the Celebration of Youth fundraiser preparations.

•Voice youth perspectives in every avenue to all board members and youth throughout the state.

Each year, current members in good standing have been given the privilege of representing Ohio 4-H on the Ohio 4-H Foundation Board. This year, we will select two members to serve a two-year term. The term is from January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2023. HOW TO APPLY: Complete the application found at go.osu.edu/join4hfoundation. Contact Crystal Ott (ott.109@osu.edu), Ohio 4-H Foundation Manager if you have any questions. The submission deadline to be considered for these positions is November 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
