The 2023 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards Form Packet as well as the 2023 Licking County 4-H Committee Scholarship Packet are now available. Both forms can be found on the Teen Opportunities page of the website. Achievement Awards forms and the 4-H Committee Scholarship are due to the Licking County Extension Office by Friday, October 6, 2023. By completing the Achievement Awards forms, members have the opportunity to be recognized for their comprehensive project work and leadership activities and can be chosen to represent Licking County at the state level competition. Applicants are also eligible to apply for state trips/camps and other opportunities through this process. Members must be at least 14 (as of 01/01/2024) in order to be eligible for this process. Ohio State Beekeepers Association Scholarship Application
Scholarship Information for 2024 Applicants
Ohio State Beekeepers Association supports new young beekeepers through our Youth Scholarship Program. We realize that the success of a new beekeeper is not reliant on the student’s work and money alone but on the partnership’s effort. Thus, the Youth Scholarship Program encourages the participation of parents/guardians, 4-H/FFA Ohio advisers, local Ohio associations, and mentors. For 2024 there will be 10 scholarships available: 5 designated for 4-H and 5 designated for FFA.
While the document below explains the program guidelines in detail, here is a quick overview:
Selection Criteria
- Students must be between the ages of 12 and 18 by January 1st of the scholarship year (2024), be a member of 4-H / FFA, and be enrolled in public, private, or home school.
- The applicants must complete and return the application by Saturday, September 16th, 2023.
Selection Process
- The selection committee will carefully consider each candidate and select the finalists on the completion of their application.
- The OSBA Youth Scholarship winners will be announced on Saturday, October 7th, 2023.
The selected Partnership Program Scholars will receive:
- Woodenware and tools for two hives (see attached document)
- 1 – year free membership to the OSBA, with an electronic newsletter
- 1 – year subscription to American Bee Journal
- 1 – year subscription to Bee Culture
- Free attendance at the OSBA Fall Convention (including 2 guests)

REMINDER: Horse & Pony Council Scholarship Due
The Licking County 4-H Horse & Pony Council Scholarship Application is due by Friday, May 19, 2023. Applications should be mailed or dropped off to the Licking County Extension Office at 771 East Main St., Suite 103, Newark, OH 43055. Please review the application for all guidelines and requirements.
Ohio State Fair Scholarships
The Ohio State Fair has several scholarships for youth. The purpose of these scholarships is to assist high school juniors and seniors and graduates who are continuing their education at an accredited institution in an under graduate course of study in any field. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2023. You can review information and submit an application by visiting the the scholarships page on the Ohio State Fair website.
Licking County Pest Management Committee Scholarship Due
The Licking County Pest Management Committee have two $500 scholarships available each year for Licking County students who are already in college or a tech school and pursuing a career related to agriculture. The application is simple and fillable online. It can be returned by email (kreager.5@osu.edu), mail, or in person at the Licking County Extension Office by April 1st. REMINDER: 2023 Hartford Fair Scholarship Due!
The 2023 Hartford Fair Scholarship is available and due to the Hartford Fair Office by March 3, 2023. Applicant must be a graduating senior, live within the Hartford Fair District and be a member of one of the following: 4-H, FFA, FCCLA or Steer Pool. Applicant must be pursuing an education in a 2 or 4-year program at an accredited and degree granting institution.
REMINDER: Beef Royalty and Scholarship Applications Due
The 2023 Licking County Cattlemen’s Association Queen & Princess of Beef and Licking County Cattlemen’s Association College Scholarship are due March 1, 2023 to the Licking County Extension Office.
