Show Feed Clinic

Hunt Feed & Supply will be hosting a Show Feed Clinic. Representatives from Kalmbach Feeds will present information on show feed programs, nutrition, and management, as well as answer questions from exhibitors and families. This clinic is intended to be educational and beneficial for youth involved in livestock projects.

Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board

The Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board is made up of Ohio’s best and brightest young leaders, hand-picked to contribute to the success of the Ohio State Fair each year. Selected to represent their respective youth organizations, these students serve on behalf of thousands of students across Ohio. Goals of the Junior Fair Board include:

  • To serve the people of the Ohio State Fair
  • To interact with fairgoers and provide the best experience possible
  • To help other agencies and organizations with their tasks, booths, etc. at the fair
  • To gain networking experiences and special opportunities

In addition to being an outstanding leader, prospective members should meet the following general criteria:

  • 16-20 years old
  • Currently a member of any youth organization or career tech organization (4-H, DECA, FFA, FCCLA, Girl Scouts, Farm Bureau, Scouting America, Skills USA, BPA, NHS, Key Club, etc.)
  • Highly involved members in their organization(s)
  • Significant accomplishments within youth organizations (i.e. competition at the state and/or national level, leadership experiences, community service/volunteer experiences, etc.)
  • Leadership experience with the potential and desire to continue to grow as a leader
  • Very responsible, respectful and professional
  • Members are only eligible to serve one two year term on the JFB representing one organization

2026 Hartford Fair Youth Scholarship Application

The 2026 Hartford Fair Scholarship is available and due to the Hartford Fair Office by March 31, 2026. Applicant must be a graduating senior, live within the Hartford Fair District and be a member of one of the following: 4-H, FFA, or FCCLA. Applicant must be pursuing an education in a 2 or 4-year program at an accredited and degree granting institution.

2026 Ohio State Fair Market Steer/Heifer DNA Kits

2026 Market Steer / Market Heifer Identification Process

IDENTIFICATION: In order for a Market Steer / Market Heifer to be eligible for entry to the 2026 Ohio Sate Fair, the appropriate DNA Sample and Identification Envelope must be submitted by no later than January 15, 2026.

OFFICIAL ENTRY: Submitting DNA sample materials by the stated deadline makes those animals eligible for official entry to the Ohio State Fair, entry forms must be submitted prior to June 20, 2026.

DNA PACKETS:     DNA packets can be obtained at your local Extension Office.

The Ohio State Fair is no longer providing EID tags. Only DNA packets are provided for exhibitors. Exhibitors are expected to provide EID tag number when submitting DNA packet (by the stated deadline).

SIGNATURE: Please be aware that your county 4-H Youth Development Educator or FFA Instructor will need to sign each DNA envelope prior to submission as notification that you plan to enroll in the 4-H / FFA Market Beef project for 2026.

In order to be eligible for entry in to the Market Steer / Market Heifer classes during the Ohio State Fair, you must officially enroll in the Market Beef project through your 4-H or FFA program. Neglecting to do so will forfeit the ability to make entry to these classes. (Same rule applies to entry in county / independent fair market classes)

2026 Ohio State ATI Invitational Dairy Cattle Judging Contest

You are invited to participate in the annual Ohio State ATI Invitational Dairy Cattle Judging Contest. This year’s contest will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the OARDC Krauss Dairy, located at 2250 Oil City Road, (between Dover Road and Secrest Road), Wooster, Ohio.

With the contest being held at Krauss Dairy, contestants will be divided into 6 rotating groups. Contestants will judge the live animal classes from the animal alleys with the animals being restrained in tie-stalls or walking in a group pen. Contestants will need to wear appropriate clothing to be in close contact with animals. Schools/clubs are expected to provide plastic boots for their contestants. Coaches/advisors may be asked to help with the contest as a ring or group leader.

Registration will be in the Krauss Dairy office and/or breakroom. Only coaches/advisors should come into the Krauss Dairy office/breakroom to register their contestants. There is minimal heat in the facilities at Krauss Dairy – dress appropriately for the weather. Coaches and advisors may want to bring a portable chair as seating will not be provided.

Contest Schedule: 8:15 to 9:15 am Registration at Krauss Dairy (2250 Oil City Road, Wooster, OH)

  • 9:15 am Contest begins as registration is completed.
  • 11:30 am Contest ends – followed by official placings.

Parking is available at Krauss Dairy on the north side of the dairy complex around the hay, silage, and equipment storage barns/areas. Students from the ATI Dairy Club will be assisting with parking – please follow their directions.

FFA chapters and 4-H clubs can enter as many individuals on a “team” as desired. The scores for the top three individuals from each “team” will become the official team score.

Entry fees are $10.00/contestant (cash or check) and are due at the time of registration. Make checks payable to: The Ohio State ATI Dairy Club.

Rules for the contest are listed below in the accompanying document. The contest will be scored by Tom Oglesby (Ohio FFA CDE coordinator). The Ohio FFA computerized scan form will be used to score the contest. An example of the form is in this document. Results will be posted at www.judgingcard.com as soon as possible after scoring.
