LAST CHANCE! Licking County 4-H Club Shirt Orders are Due June 1st!

ORDERS ARE DUE BY JUNE 1ST! All information is listed below.

The Licking County 4-H Program is offering a Club Shirt in 2020, and we hope that your club might consider ordering!

The shirts will cost $10 each, with $3 from each shirt being donated to the Food Pantry Network of Licking County!

Here’s why we think you might be interested:

  • Opportunity to support the Food Pantry Network of Licking County
  • Ability to show your 4-H Spirit throughout the community
  • Convenience of being able to use this as your “Club Shirt” for this year
  • Members may be missing that 4-H Camp shirt, and want this shirt – while they wait for fall programming

Here are a few more important details:

CLUB NAME: #InThisTogetherOhio logo will appear on the back of shirt, in large size. If a club has at least ten shirts ordered by individuals connected to their club, the club’s name will be screen printed on the front left chest area of those shirts. If there are fewer than ten shirts ordered from a club, their club name will not be listed on the front of shirts – only the back logo will be screen printed. …Note: While you are welcome to make this your Club Shirt for this year, please know that you continue to be welcome to do a separate Club Shirt of your choosing – this is simply an option!

WHO CAN ORDER: Anyone can order! Advisors, members, parents, supporters! Anyone! Just make sure that you list your club, if you want to be included in your club’s screen print! If community members are interested in a shirt, but are not connected to any one 4-H Club, they are welcome to list “none” on the Club Name line of the order form.

WHEN CAN WE ORDER: Orders will be accepted until June 1st.

HOW DO WE ORDER: The order form can be found here.

WHEN WILL THEY BE DISTRIBUTED: We’ve listed the distribution as getting underway on July 1st. Well before then, we should know what the social distancing guidelines are, and how to work within those guidelines to facilitate distribution of orders. We may group club orders and drop to a club advisor, we may need to do a drive-thru pick-up, etc. Due to expense, shirts will not be mailed. It’s really hard to say details at this moment, but everyone will get their shirts in early July!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT: We’re thankful that we are able to support the Food Pantry Network of Licking County with this effort, and they are appreciative of this effort. We know that many within our community are relaying on the FPN for support and assistance right now, and surely some of our 4-H families are also among those who benefit… Once the shirt deadline arrives on June 1st, we’ll be happy to announce the total amount to be donated.

ADDITIONAL DONATION: If your club (or a family within the club) would like to make an additional contribution, simply send a separate check made payable to the 4-H Committee (note FPN Donation in the memo). We will make sure that your donation is presented to the FPN in early June as a part of the 4-H program’s support.

Camp Canopy’s Virtual Week of Learning – June 7-12, 2020

Were we upset about cancelling Camp Canopy 2020. Heartbroken. Were we going to leave you hanging that week with nothing to do but wish you were at camp? No way. We’ve put together a week of virtual learning to take your mind off of challenging times and bring it back to the good ol’ outdoors…and the forests and wildlife in it!

Starting Sunday, June 7, at 2 pm and ending at 2 pm on Friday, June 12, we will be posting videos created by Camp Canopy’s directors, instructors, and a few special guests to our Facebook page (@CampCanopy). Videos will be posted at 10 am, 2 pm, and 7 pm. We will be teaching about tree ID, mammal pelts and skulls, silviculture, bats, turning trees into logs, birds, frogs, invasive species, and MORE! Check out the full schedule here. We’ve even thrown in a few Camp Canopy traditions!

Be sure to join us LIVE on Facebook at 10 am each day, starting Monday, for a preview of the day’s content. We can’t wait to see you all in a few weeks!

Camp may be cancelled…but you can still get your camp SWAG!

The Discovery Goes On! Even if we can’t be together for forestry and wildlife brain-time at camp this year, you can still LOOK like you’re at camp. Get your 2020 ‘Discovery Goes On’ camp shirt here. We also have hooded sweatshirts! Orders will be accepted until June 15, 2020. Shirts and hoodies will ship by the end of June.

The contest winner will receive the following: a one-year membership in the OCBA, one bred ewe the first year, one ram the second year and in the third year the youth will donate a lamb to continue the award.

The application deadline is September 30th. For an application and contest rules please contact the Ohio Cheviot Breeders Association Starter Flock Committee Chairperson, Tabitha Weisend, at 740-459-9751 or tabithasregcheviots@yahoo.com.
