Join the Licking County 4-H Shooting Sports Clubs for a fun day of marksmanship. Open to any 4-H member currently enrolled in a shooting sports project that is taking or has previously taken a Rifle or Pistol project.

.22 Caliber Rimfire Bullseye Pistol & Rimfire Sporter Rifle Matches

Saturday, June 1, 2024 | 4-H Camp Ohio Range – St Louisville, Ohio

Come to challenge yourself. We will make allowances for less-experienced shooters. The 100-yard range has a large, covered firing line with plenty of room. We will begin at 9:30 AM with a bullseye pistol match and will run relays as needed until shortly before 11 AM. All 4-H paperwork and permission forms are required at registration and will be sent upon request.

This event it hosted by the Licking County 4-H Shooting Sports Clubs and Shooting Sports Committee. Competitors must supply their own (or club) firearms and ammunition. There is no fee for these matches.

All rules for the National 4-H Shooting Sports program will apply. CMP Bullseye Pistol Rules and CMP Rimfire Sporter Rifle Rules will be used.

4-H Challenges Youth to Submit Their Best Shot

This latest photography challenge, sponsored by Minnesota 4-H, is open to youth across the Midwest. Youth are encouraged to use their photography skills and creativity to capture their best shot.

Youth as young as kindergarten are welcome to join the challenge. This is a great first experience for people who are new to 4-H. Once registered for the challenge, youth can experiment with photography elements to create stunning photographs. On-demand lessons are available on the Minnesota 4-H photography project page, including how angles, light and composition to enhance your photography.

Youth may submit their favorite photo (with no or minimal editing) with up to three sentences of why it’s special to them. Deadline to submit an image is 11:59 p.m. (CST) on May 1, 2024. Volunteer 4-H photography judges will review all submissions, provide feedback and select the top images for special awards. All submissions will be entered into a prize drawing. Submitted images will be featured in a digital slideshow shared with participants and posted on Minnesota 4-H’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

2024 4-H Dairy Judging Contest

LOCATION UPDATE!

The 2024 Dairy Judging Contest will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at LAYMAN DAIRY FARM located at 2868 Lake Fork Rd NE, Utica, OH 43080. After the contest concludes, Quality Assurance training will take place at SHIPLEY DAIRY FARM located at 9309 Reynolds Rd, Utica, OH 43080. This Quality Assurance Training is only offered for those Dairy and Dairy Feeder project members who participate in the Dairy Judging Contest.

 

2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Quiz Bowl

The 2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Quiz Bowl registration portal is now open. Quizzes this year are comprised of 50 new questions for Intermediate/Seniors and 25 new questions for Juniors as a mix of General 4-H, STEM, Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Hunting Skills and Western Heritage – hosted on a brand new, exciting, hopefully trouble free, platform.

Quiz Bowl registration price is the same as last year,  $10 for individuals and $40 for teams. Team members are automatically scored as individuals and receive individual awards/recognition as well as team awards/recognition.

Upon registration you will be provided a link to the study materials and a personal quiz link.

The Quiz may be taken anytime between January 15-19, 2024. You will only have one chance to take the quiz. Quiz scores are based on the number of correct answers and the amount of time remaining in the quiz.
