REMINDER: 2024 4-H Achievement Night

We are excited to recognize our members and advisors at the annual Licking County 4-H Achievement Night on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 6:30pm at C-TEC. We are thrilled to recognize individuals who fall into the list below. While we look forward to recognizing these youth and volunteers, please know that everyone is welcome to attend this event, even if you are not getting recognized. One of our Licking County 4-H members, Kinsey Duzan, along with help from her family, has organized a Christmas Tree Raffle to benefit the Licking County 4-H Program! LAST CHANCE: Gift Card Drive for Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Let’s put our “Hands to Larger Service” as we partner with Karis’ Cause to collect gift cards for patients and their families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital this holiday season. We are requesting $10 gift cards. Gift cards can be brought to the 2024 4-H Achievement Night on Thursday, November 21, 2024 or dropped off to the Licking County Extension Office by Thursday, November 21st.

Suggested gift cards:

  • Restaurants – Panera, Subway, and Tim Hortons are located in or near the hospital and are great options. Other restaurant cards are also appreciated.

Market Steer and Heifer Weigh-In for 2025

2025 Hartford Fair Market Steer / Heifer exhibitors are asked to make note of the following details to ensure that their market animals are registered online (by noon on Friday, December 6, 2024) and weighed-in on December 7, 2024 in preparation for the 2025 Hartford Fair. Online Registration: go.osu.edu/2025HartfordWeighIn

Details regarding eligibility for the Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Market Steer / Heifer show can be found HERE. DNA samples are to be submitted to the OSF by no later than January 15. Same as in 2024: OSF is no longer providing 840 EID tags – they must be provided by the exhibitor / breeder, with tag number note on DNA packet prior to submission.

REMINDER: 2025 Hartford Fair Board Application

Come be a part of the team! The application for the 2025 Hartford Fair Junior Fair Board is now available HERE. Completed applications must be turned in by November 15, 2024. Applicants must be age 14 as of 01/01/2025 to apply for the junior fair board. Interviews will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Licking County Extension Office. Once you have submitted your application, please call our office at 740-670-5315 to schedule your interview.

 

REMINDER: 2025 Food and Fashion Board Applications

The application for the 2025 Licking County 4-H Food and Fashion Board now available and is due by November 15, 2024. To be eligible to apply, members must at least 14 years old as of January 1, 2025. Members are NOT required to take a foods or clothing project in the current year that they are serving on the board, but should show an interested in 4-H foods and clothing projects and have taken those projects at some point during the 4-H career. Members will serve in a leadership role to support the food and clothing project areas. Members will plan and host workshops, help with judging, plan and run the style revue, and host other events to support our Licking County 4-H members. The application is due by Interviews will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 3:00-4:00pm and 7:00-8:00pm. Please reach out to Adrienne Anderson (anderson.1410@osu.edu) to schedule and interview time.

REMINDER: 2025 Camp Counselor Application

2025 Camp Counselor Applications are NOW AVAILABLE for Summer Camp and Cloverbud Day Camp! Applications and reference forms must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024! Interviews will be held for new candidates on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

2025 Licking County 4-H Camp Counselor Application (this application is for both Summer Camp AND Cloverbud Day Camp Counselor applicants): Go.osu.edu/2025CounselorApplication

  • Follow the link above to the application. You’ll complete your responses, read the Standards of Behavior and Camp Counselor Contract, and then both you and parent will electronically sign your application. The application can be completed easily on a computer or mobile device.
