REMINDER: 2024 Licking County 4-H Advisor Trainings

Licking County 4-H Club Advisors…

It’s time to make plans to attend a 2024 Advisor Training session!
Please take just a moment or two to read through this information…

WHEN / WHERE: We encourage you to mark your calendar for Saturday, January 27th (9:00 a.m.) at Ohio State Newark – Reese Center – no registration necessary, as we hope that all of you can attend! But…if you’re not available for that session, please email Lisa to let us know if you need to attend one of the alternative dates (February 5th, 14th or 28th / 7-8:30 p.m.), which will be held at the Licking County Extension Office. Because those three dates are considered back-up, and have a much smaller capacity than that January 27th date, YOU MUST REGISTER if you plan to attend February 5th, 14th or 28th trainings – simply email Lisa and she will add you to the list (as long as space is available).

LOCATION: We’ll be in the Auditorium at the Reese Center, where we also hold the Style Revue and Recognition Event each July. There will be plenty of seating, as well as parking, for all… We will also have Resource Fair tables set up outside of the Auditorium for Advisors to visit following the update.

WHAT: If you’re planning to attend the January 27th training (and we really hope you will), you’ll participate in a training update from 9-11:00 a.m., and then have time from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to enjoy the RESOURCE FAIR! We will have a trade show area set up for you to ask questions, look at new materials, interact with key resource leaders, etc. – or you can just take a few minutes to sit and speak with other advisors about what’s working for them! That time is for YOU! We want to support you, and the Resource Fair can serve that purpose! Note: If you must attend the February 5th, 14th or 28th dates, please know that only training will be provided due to space and time limitations.

WHY: All 4-H Club Advisors within the state of Ohio are required to attend an annual training. This training will include an introduction to anything that’s new, review of any issues that have been encountered over the past year, reminder about the important dates and deadline, emphasis on new tasks that may be needed, etc. Training is intended to support you and provide you with information and resources that will make your work as an advisor more enjoyable, more manageable, and more rewarding!

We would encourage Organizational Advisors to touch base with all advisors within their club to determine which training they will attend, as we want to ensure that everyone actually reads this information and has a plan to meet their training requirement. Those adults working through the selection and screening process currently (potential new advisors) are welcome to attend this training alongside other advisors from the club.
