On Monday, February 28, Larry Hughes concluded fourteen years of serving the Hartford Independent Fair as their Executive Secretary and Manager. Beginning this role on January 1, 2008, Larry has worked to oversee care and improvements to the fairgrounds, business of the Agricultural Society, and welcomed countless guests, donors, and sponsors through the gates. His passion and joy for serving as a caretaker and manager of the grounds and fair business has been easily recognized through his constant smile, firm handshake, and can-do attitude.
While he has completed his time in the role, Larry continues to serve as a Senior Fair Board member, a position that he has held for 53 years – and counting! Larry’s time and expertise have been dearly appreciated and the Fair’s Directors and Staff wish to thank him for his outstanding efforts. Following Larry in this role, the Hartford Fair welcomes Rod Arter as their new Executive Secretary and Manager.
