4-H Youth in Action Awards

Every 4-H’er has a story, and those stories are worth telling! Sharing your 4-H story could earn you a $5,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington D.C. for National 4-H Council’s Legacy Awards, where you’ll have the chance to tell your story while meeting 4-H celebrities and other notable alums!

The program recognizes four confident young leaders in our core pillar areas of Agriculture, Civic Engagement, Healthy Living and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics), giving pillar winners the chance to share how 4-H changed their lives and how they have used the skills they gained in 4-H to change the lives of others.

Awards & Recognition
Each of the four Pillar Winners will receive:
• A $5,000 scholarship for higher education, to be paid directly to the institution, including two-year and four-year colleges, trade schools or other advanced learning opportunities.
• An all-expenses paid trip for the pillar winner & a chaperone to Washington, D.C. The winner will be recognized at the Legacy Awards and participate in training opportunities and media engagements, while engaging with Council leadership, celebrities & other prominent 4-H alumni.
• An opportunity to be featured as the 4-H Youth Spokesperson for their pillar area.
• An official reference letter from National 4-H Council President and CEO, Jennifer Sirangelo.
One 4-H Youth in Action National Award winner will be select from the four pillar winners and will receive an additional scholarship and further opportunities to serve as a spokesperson for National 4-H Council.
Awardees agree to comply with the requirements on the application and the Pillar Winner agreement sent by National 4-H Council at the time of selection.

Buckeye Leadership Workshop

Buckeye Leadership Workshop: March 20-24, 2019

Buckeye Leadership Workshop is a learning, sharing “workshop” intended as a balanced program of social, physical, mental, and spiritual activities. We believe that Buckeye Leadership Workshop provides a powerful learning environment in which anyone who works with people, professionally or informally, can develop programming for youth or adults. The workshop also benefits those who simply enjoy associating with great people, experiencing new ideas, and learning new skills. Experiential learning through recreation is truly the intent and methodology of Buckeye Leadership Workshop.

Fall TSC 4-H Paper Clover Campaign

It’s time for the Fall TSC 4-H Paper Clover campaign! Visit TSC at Heath, Johnstown or Newark and purchase a paper clover to show your support for 4-H in Licking County. 90% of funds raised come back to Ohio and Licking County to support scholarships for camp and leadership activities. The TSC Paper Clover event runs now through October 14.

Ohio Poultry Industry Day

Ohio Poultry Industry Day will be held on Saturday, November 17, 9am-3pm, at the OSU Animal Sciences Building, Columbus. This event is for high school juniors and seniors, as well as college freshmen interested in learning more about the poultry industry. The day will feature prominent poultry companies in Ohio, as well as speakers from the Ohio Poultry Association and The Ohio State University. The program will also have a hands-on necropsy.

Lunch will be provided. Registration is $20.00 payable the day of the event.
