2018 National Pygmy Goat Convention

The Ohio Pygmy Goat Association will be hosting the 2018 National Pygmy Goat Convention on June 15-17, 2018 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio. They will be having a Youth Pygmy Goat Show on Friday the 15th and all youth are welcome to show their registered or unregistered pygmy goats in all classes.

Check-in for this show is Thursday June 14 from 4-8pm or Friday June 15 from 8-9am. Check – in is when an exhibitor gives their goats’ class list (s) to the show chair so the goat(s) can be placed in the proper age group. Early entry for check-in can be mailed or emailed but the exhibitor must still check-in with the show chair during those hours. Please send no money for early entries! Pay when you check-in. Early entries save time by allowing them to write your goats into classes days before the show rather than that morning. They are appreciated but not
mandatory.

Prizes will be awarded for some class placements, special Convention place ribbons awarded for first through fifth, and special Convention rosettes for reserve champions and champions. This is an excellent opportunity for ALL youth, 4H NPGA and pygmy goat lovers, to participate in a National Convention setting and meet some of the top breeders and judges of the nation.

Friday night at 7pm is the National Champion Challenge where the National Champion Wether, Doe and Buck will be chosen by NPGA judges attending this Convention. Youth show participants are invited to tour the barns that day where the National Champion Contenders are stalled and guess who will be the winners. A card will be provided for this purpose, one per youth show exhibitor. A gift card will be mailed to the winners. You need not attend the 7pm
Challenge to win. Please make plans to attend. Show starts at 9am with Showmanship and check-in before then. Early entries are greatly appreciated and help move the show along in a timely manner. Stalls are available at cost or show off your trailer.
