Syracuse visiting position

The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese Language, Literature, Film, and Culture, beginning August 20, 2018, to replace a faculty member on leave. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, including CHI 401 in fall and CHI 402 in spring (Advanced Chinese Language I and II), one class each semester in Chinese literature, film, or culture (taught in English), and one class each semester in beginning or intermediate-level Chinese language. Additional responsibilities include working with the Chinese Language Coordinator to advise students interested in pursuing the Chinese Language Minor.

A Ph.D. in Chinese or Chinese Studies or related field required and experience in teaching university-level Mandarin instruction also required.
