Readership
MCLC is a reincarnation of Modern Chinese Literature (1984-1998). The journal has roughly 500 subscribers. As the leading English-language journal in the field, MCLC reaches well beyond its immediate subscription base. That readership consists of scholars and teachers of Chinese literature, film, history, and culture; graduate students in East Asian culture departments; comparatists; etc. Our hope is to reach a broad readership of scholars, intellectuals, and students, as well as those whose interest in China is not necessarily academic.
Ads can also be posted on the MCLC LIST blog page, an Announcements posting affiliated with the journal Modern Chinese Literature and Culture. As of January 2010, the list had a membership of 1300, composed of scholars and graduate students in the fields of modern Chinese literature, media studies, and history, as well as a few interested professionals.
