MCLC is a reincarnation of Modern Chinese Literature (1984-1998). As the leading English-language journal in the field, MCLC reaches well beyond its immediate subscription base. That readership consists of scholars and teachers of Chinese literature, film, history, and culture; graduate students in East Asian culture departments; comparatists; etc. Our hope is to reach a broad readership of scholars, intellectuals, and students, as well as those whose interest in China is not necessarily academic.
Ads can also be posted on the MCLC LIST blog page, an Announcements posting affiliated with the journal Modern Chinese Literature and Culture. As of January 2022, the list has a membership of 3500, composed of scholars and graduate students in the fields of modern Chinese literature, media studies, and history, as well as a few interested professionals.
